About Joseph and Susan DeFazio Property owners
I spent the early part of my youth living in the North End. My family owned a home just up the street from the Cottage on Hull St. I attended Saint Anthony's, Saint Mary's and Christopher Columbus High School all located in the North End. We attended Sunday mass at either Saint Leonard's or Saint Mary's churches, My mother loved the children's Choirs at these churches and we would split our time between them. My family moved to the South Shore in the late sixties due to my fathers job change. Thou we moved out of the North End my relatives still lived there and we visited frequently at least once a month. I have always loved the North End and returned there to visit my Aunts and walk the neighborhood streets every chance I could get.

Why Joseph and Susan DeFazio Property owners chose North End
The Enchanted Cottage is right off the Freedom Trail and right around the corner from the Old North church, within walking distance to everything that you came to Boston to experience. This cottage is not just a rental but a family home that has been part of my family for over 40 years. It is unique in that it is a single family home and not an apartment, it is also the second smallest house in Boston and it has an outside patio that is the envy of the neighborhood and does not require you to climb two or three flights of stairs.
What makes this Cottage unique
The Enchanted Cottage is a single family home with a wonderful patio, where you can sit out side and enjoy a morning cup of coffee or an evening glass of wine, Where you can enjoy a conversation with the friendly residents of the area or the Boston visitors who always stop and ask about the cottage. The 420-square-foot house at 54 Snow Hill Street is the North End’s tiniest standalone single-family. It’s also one of the 10 tiniest houses in Boston, period. Despite its diminutive size, Snow Hill certainly packs a lot in. There’s a bedroom loft, for one thing, and a full kitchen. There is also a full bathroom and a living room. There’s even a fireplace and a private patio. Sue and I are only a phone or text away,

Having just spent two full weeks in the cottage, I will say it was truly wonderful. The cottage was immaculate, the location was unbeatable and the area very charming. If I could of, I would have extended my stay.
The hosts answered all enquiries almost immediately. The cottage was stocked with breakfast items, pastries, drinks, and snacks. The amenities and linens were top notch. The WIFI and TV channels were excellent, as well. There were tourist guidebooks that helped navigate the area. The bed was very comfortable, and that is something that is very important to me.
When I had to make some changes to my schedule, the owners were a delight and very nice to work with.
I look very forward to renting this cottage again in the future for business and vacation. Summary: I would recommend renting here without hesitation.
Great home, great location, close to historical sites, excellent dining and shopping
This is our third time to Boston in 8 months and the best place we have stayed. The house is truly an enchanted cottage! We were celebrating our 20th anniversary and I had surgery at Mass General. The location was perfect for following the sites on the freedom trail and within walking distance to the hospital. The house had everything that we needed. Every need was provided for - fully stocked kitchen complete with a fresh loaf of bread, kuerig with k-cups of all varieties and other wonderful treats. In the bathroom - everything was there - new toiletries of all kinds. If you leave anything at home, you can find it in the cottage. The home is perfect for a couple who wants to enjoy Boston. Boston is a beautiful city that we have fallen in love. When we travel to Boston again, we hope to stay at the enchanted cottage! The perfect location in near wonderful restaurants and bakeries. The walkability of the city is fabulous and the cottage is in the heart of the historic north end. The perfect location and experience! Thank you for your warm hospitality!
We stayed here for 4 nights for the Boston marathon and we found it to be the perfect location for everything! The cottage is comfortable, clean, convenient and very charmingly decorated. We were delighted when we arrived late in the evening to find fresh eggs, milk, bread and oj on hand for an easy breakfast the next morning. Everything we could have possibly needed for our stay was available at this enchanted cottage (we found rubber bands, scissors, rain ponchos, and other small items that saved us a trip to the store). We will stay again if we decide to run 26.2 miles in Boston next year!
Great location! Fully stocked!
Located in the North End. Walking distance to everything! Highly recommend!!
thank you Joe
Perfect place and location
This place is an enchanted cottage! The owners provided all the amenities to make our stay feel like home. This is located perfectly in the North End. We were able to walk everywhere. It was a quick 10 minute walk to get to the Italian restaurants which was great. We ate at Giacomo’s and it was amazing.we would definitely stay here again and highly recommend!
We were thoroughly delighted with our stay at the cottage. We couldn’t have asked for a greater location. All our needs were provided for—even some food provisions should we need them. Such generosity we’ve never seen in a rental property before!! We walked everywhere: North Station. TD Garden. Historic Sites. Public Garden. Cambridge. Restaurants. Every direction had something new to discover. Even as the weather got colder and wetter, we always had a cozy spot to come home to. The weather did not deter us. Comfy bed, Clean and modern kitchen and bath. I can’t say enough about this spot. Look forward to another visit.
Commuter rail to take you to Gloucester, Ipswich, Revere and Newburyport beaches, as well as trains and buses connecting all of Boston,
just a five minute walk from the cottage. And you can take your bikes on the train.
