About Joseph and Susan DeFazio Property owners
I spent the early part of my youth living in the North End. My family owned a home just up the street from the Cottage on Hull St. I attended Saint Anthony's, Saint Mary's and Christopher Columbus High School all located in the North End. We attended Sunday mass at either Saint Leonard's or Saint Mary's churches, My mother loved the children's Choirs at these churches and we would split our time between them. My family moved to the South Shore in the late sixties due to my fathers job change. Thou we moved out of the North End my relatives still lived there and we visited frequently at least once a month. I have always loved the North End and returned there to visit my Aunts and walk the neighborhood streets every chance I could get.

Why Joseph and Susan DeFazio Property owners chose North End
The Enchanted Cottage is right off the Freedom Trail and right around the corner from the Old North church, within walking distance to everything that you came to Boston to experience. This cottage is not just a rental but a family home that has been part of my family for over 40 years. It is unique in that it is a single family home and not an apartment, it is also the second smallest house in Boston and it has an outside patio that is the envy of the neighborhood and does not require you to climb two or three flights of stairs.
What makes this Cottage unique
The Enchanted Cottage is a single family home with a wonderful patio, where you can sit out side and enjoy a morning cup of coffee or an evening glass of wine, Where you can enjoy a conversation with the friendly residents of the area or the Boston visitors who always stop and ask about the cottage. The 420-square-foot house at 54 Snow Hill Street is the North End’s tiniest standalone single-family. It’s also one of the 10 tiniest houses in Boston, period. Despite its diminutive size, Snow Hill certainly packs a lot in. There’s a bedroom loft, for one thing, and a full kitchen. There is also a full bathroom and a living room. There’s even a fireplace and a private patio. Sue and I are only a phone or text away,

The enchanted cottage was all we hoped for. Location in the North End was great, although it took nearly all week before we realized just how great it was. The cottage was just as depicted on line. Although we don't have a long history with VBRO, this was by far the most well equipped. Joe and Susan have thought of everything and more. They even had a tiny eyeglass repair kit, which we needed when my lens fell out. What a blessing to not have to wear my sunglasses everywhere for two days, or locate a vision center. The list of amenities provided is much too long for this review. Best of all, we were just steps from the Old North Church and more great restaurants than we could count.
Thank you very much for the wonderful review
Glad you enjoyed your stay
This was a return trip to the Enchanted Cottage which speaks loudly what we think of it! Warm, welcoming, fully stocked with everything from floss to farm eggs. If you are interested in all things Boston, the cottage is definitely in a "foot friendly" location. The Freedom Trail is a block away and it's a short walk to the "T" to get you to a Red Sox game. Joe and Sue have mastered the art of a well-appointed destination home.
The Enchanted Cottage is truly enchanted! A great location on the North End that is within walking distance to great food, the harbor and downtown. Sue and Joe were fabulous hosts! We really appreciated the food provided in the pantry and cupboards. While sitting on the patio, we met people from all over the world who admired this beautiful cottage! Thanks Sue and Joe for providing such an enchanted place to stay!
Thanks Deborah and Rich,
for the great review, and meeting you guys was a real treat, hope to hear from you in the future.
The absolute BEST!
Seriously if I could give 6 stars I would. Joe and Sue’s “Enchanted Cottage” was truly the best place I’ve stayed and this is month ten of a 12 month tour around the country. What a wonderful spot to call home for a bit and Joe and Sue thought of absolutely everything to help make the stay comfortable and fun. The kitchen was extremely well stocked and appointed, the appliances are very nice and the cottage is just absolutely charming. It’s such a charming spot in fact, be ready for passersby to want to know about it. :). It’s a block from the freedom trail, two blocks from The Old North Church and in such a lovely and quiet part of the North End. For evening fun you’re only a few blocks from the most wonderful restaurants and pastry shops in the city. Heaven. I really don’t have a bad thing to say about my stay only that I had to leave. Thanks Joe and Sue!!
Thank you John, so glad you enjoyed your stay.
North End fun
We had a great stay at the North End cottage and give a glowing recommendation. The location is perfect - easy walk to the T, on the Freedom Trail and so close to all the excellent restaurants in the North End. The cottage was well stocked with breakfast items, coffee and even toiletries! Our hosts were responsive to all our questions and gave great suggestions for things to do and see.
Cool tiny home in a great location.
The home is amazing, almost a 100 years old but with modern amenities. The owners had so many special touches including breakfast items stocked in the fridge, high end bath products and rain gear. A real class act. Without hesitation, I recommend this property. If we go back to Boston, this is where we will stay.
Holly and Mason,
It was a pleasure hosting you and Mason,
We would love to have you back again.
Commuter rail to take you to Gloucester, Ipswich, Revere and Newburyport beaches, as well as trains and buses connecting all of Boston,
