About the property

A modern apartment with one double bedroom with ensuite and a second bedroom with two bunk beds and a separate bathroom. There is a living room with wonderful views over the surrounding hills and countryside. A sofa bed in the living room can be used for up to two extra guests. The apartment is on the first floor of a very well maintained building with three floors only, but please note there is no lift. The grounds are beautifully maintained and provide outside space to sit out and enjoy the views in summer. There is a dedicated allocated parking space. There is a well equipped kitchen with microwave, washing machine and dishwasher. A TV in the lounge and gas central heating and broadband are provided.

The apartment is located on the edge of Fowey, an ancient and beautiful seaside town, well known for sailing, boating and scenic walks. The town itself is about fifteen minutes' walk from the apartment, although there is also a local bus, thFowey Town bus, which runs past the apartment entrance three times an hour. There are two beaches in Fowey, both safe for swimming. The location is excellent for local exploring, either on foot or further afield. The Eden Project is very close and many Cornish attractions can be reached easily.

Very nice

The property initially was difficult to get into. The key box is rusty and hard to open probably due to the way it is stored and water can get in. Also the main door to the apartment has a really stiff lock so we intailly wondered if we had the right door! Something a little wd40 would fix right away!

Anyway once we got in we were greeted with a really clean and homely apartment. It smelt clean and fresh and was really spacious, we were expecting it to be tiny from the pictures. The beds were comfy and had nice soft bedding. Lovely soft towels (no mat to stand on when wet from the shower or bath though) and the throws were lovely for extra comfort on the sofa.

Free WiFi was nice and so was the smart tv even if it was a little small (we are on holiday so it’s not so bad!) there was plenty of crockery and cutlery and the kitchen was well equipped which meant we didn’t have to spend a lot on eating out if we didn’t want to. It was a nice 15 minute walk into town and a 20 minute walk back up the hill. All in all a lovely stay.

Very comfortable and relaxing place to stay with amazing views!

Although the apartment is on a housing estate, once you walk through the front door you completely forget due to the amazing views from the living room and master bedroom which overlook the countryside. The apartment is extremely clean and has all amenities that you need for a short break away. Rooms were spacious allowing us to fit our travel cot in the second bedroom. Only downsides are that the TV is comically small, we could only find 2 normal glasses to drink from (there were mugs and wine glasses though) and the mattress in the master is probably due a change although we did sleep well so didn't cause us too much of an issue! It is around a 15 minute walk down into the main part of Fowey. Overall very happy and would definitely stay again and would recommend to others.

Very Good

The property was nice and clean and tidy.

Parking is a little hassle as parking spaces are a bit tight

Have to travel quite a bit on narrow roads to get to Looe and other destinations

Otherwise a very nice relaxing stay just like our own house

Nice apartment, could be improved

Booked this apartment for a short stay for my husband so he could take his mum to the Eden Project.

The nice things about this property are the parking space, there are nice views from the back-room windows, the fibre broadband and vacinity to the Eden Project.

The apartment is equipped for being used as a base for exploring the surrounding area, for example, the TV is 19", there are no books or games provided, no DVD player etc.

Unfortunately, when my husband and mother-in-law arrived at the apartment, the key for the door when unlocking is very stiff and as there was no number on the door, so he questioned whether they had the right apartment. Also, the dish washer was still loaded and the contents wet. A bottle of toilet bleach had been left in the master bedroom on a chest of draws, there was no bathmat for the en-suite and my husband slipped and hurt his knee when first using the shower. Also, there was no dustbin in the en-suite and the water pressure in the shower was very poor and the extractor fan would only come on after turning on the isolator switch, which is above normal eyeline view, this is not mentioned in the welcome pack.

The fridge in the kitchen is behind the kitchen door to open the fridge door, there was no user manual for the washing machine that they could find. My husband only did one load of washing which the machine would not spin, therefore, they had to take it to the local laundrette to get it dried. My husband did find a vehicle V5 document whilst looking for the washing machine manual.

The toaster was also broken.

Communication with the owner was very slow, upon sending a text message about the washing machine manual and the toaster not working, he did not get a reply until several hours later or even the next day.

The walk into town is very steep (downhill) in places and as they found out, after speaking to the driver of the Fowey Town Bus, the bus only comes to the road near to the apartment if they have someone to drop off at the Park Road shop, otherwise there is no bus service along the road; the bus service to return also finishes at 5.30pm, in which case after this time you would need to walk back to the apartment.

With a few improvements this could be a lovely apartment to stay in. Especially improvements with the communication, maybe just a text/HomeAway message about 7pm, to check whether the guest had arrived okay and if there is anything they need to let the owner know

Nice apartment

The apartment is very nice on a fairly new housing estate. Allocated parking for one car is available. It has everything you will need for a holiday. There are great views over the countryside from the living room. Internet access was great. The bedroom has a Velux window but the blind is not blackout so the room gets very light very early in the morning. The mattress was very uncomfortable.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review and I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. I am sorry you found the mattress uncomfortable. The king size mattress was new this year and may be on the firm side. I will look into installing a blackout blind which should help the excess light in the morning.
