Fully refurbished and Just 50m from the beautiful sandy shore - Bolt Hole by the beach is a great place for families to enjoy some precious time by the sea. Comfortably sleeping up to 6 people in 2 rooms the property provides holiday makers with a fresh, modern and comfortable base for visiting the Northumbrian coastline, Newcastle and the Scottish borders.

The lounge is furnished with comfortable seating and has a digital TV with DVD player. We have a reliable broadband connection and offer complimentary wifi so even if the weather isn't great you can snuggle up with a cosy throw and connect with the world.

The beach themed kitchen has everything you need to make self-catering easy including a washing machine, electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge freezer, toaster and a good range of utensils. Loo roll & other essentials are provided for your stay.

Extendable dining table seats up to 6 so you can enjoy a family meal in comfort, great if you prefer a night in!

The master bedroom is a place of relaxation and comfort and is simply decorated with a feature wall mural of Newbiggin Bay. Furnished with bed, dressing table & bedside - its a great place to listen to the sound of the sea and fall asleep . Our spacious bedroom 2 is furnished with a triple bunk bed comprising double bed with single above. There is also a junior 'ready bed' available on request. The room has plenty of storage as well as play space for your little pirates so they can enjoy our treasure chest of games, pirate books, dress ups and DVDs when they are not enjoying the freedom of the beach.

The bathroom is part tiled and our power shower over the bath provides ample hot water - perfect for rinsing off after a morning swim!

Parking is available on street and transportation links are available within walking distance.

Enclosed patio area is not overlooked and is great for enjoying breakfast outdoors or just relaxing in your PJ's at the end of a busy day of sight-seeing.

What we provide as standard:

Reasonable use of gas and electricity, a choice of either anti allergy or duck filled feather pillows, hairdryer, complimentary wifi, free on street parking.

What can be included for a small charge:

Linen pack (freshly laundered bed linen for up to 4 beds / towel bale / junior ready bed if required).


'Bolt Hole by the beach' is situated at NE64 6XH, just off the sea front in Newbiggin by the Sea and is within an easy commute to Northumberland's major attractions.

Arrivals and Departures:

Change over days are flexible depending on season [summer bookings cannot be accepted unless they are booked Sat to Sat] with arrivals typically between 4.00pm and 5pm and departures before 10am.

Hi, I'm your host Elaine, I live in Newbiggin by the sea and am given to promoting it for various reasons at any opportunity. I am Mother to 2 amazing ladies and a very proud Grandparent of 4. Aside from running the lets, I work full-time for a local Civil Engineering company.

Wonderful little bolt hole!

Wonderful little bolt hole which was clean and tidy and had everything we needed. Great location near the sea, with fantastic beaches, countryside and places of interest all nearby.

Elaine was always quick to reply in regards to booking and when we needed to contact her.

Would definitely use again if we are in the area.

A home from home. Great location and 2 mins walk from the beach and 5 mins walk from the shop.

Spent Christmas at the Bolt in the Hole property because my daughter was working over Christmas at the local hospital. Just expected it to be a base but it was so much more. Joined the locals in the annual Boxing Day swim. Not the warmest water (absolutely freezing) but the friendliest people. Defrosted with a whiskey in the local afterwards. Daughter had one full day off during the week so drove the coast road to Lindisfarne. Beautiful drive with stunning views. Lindisfarne itself is amazing. GET THE TIDE TIMES BEFORE YOU GO. Took the A1 back and were in the door in 1 hour. Brilliant fish and chip shop within 2 min walk who also do Sunday Dinners. Roast beef, chicken all the veg, home made Yorkshires, £5 (take your own plate). Best thing for me was the walk to the church at the end of the beach and back. Did this walk several times a day and never tired of the changing tides. Fabulous beach further on than the church. Short drive to Cresswell where there is a 6 mile uninterupted stretch of sand. In December it was cold, wild but fantastic.

Lasting memory is sitting up in bed with a cup of tea and the window ajar listening to the waves on the beach. Would I go again? YES!

fabulous Bolt hole, to get away from it all

the house was everything we were expecting and more. It was clean, and spacious. Our grandchildren loved the pirate theme bed room. We all loved the seaside mural on the wall in the back yard. i would certainly recommend staying there and you are only 5 minutes from the beautiful beach

Former miner's terraced house, near the sea and the town. Clean and comfortable.

There is another row of houses between the house and the sea, so no views but it is still a good place to stay, close to the seafront and the town.

The house is clean, comfortable and well equipped. Well situated to explore the Northumbria coastline. Elaine is friendly and helpful.
