Loved the location and views. The condo is first class in every way. Great jazz cd collection and with pictures of jazz greats all over.
Wonderful! Like being in an eagle's nest!
We rented this lovely condominium for a week whilst on vacation in France and enjoyed the home very much. It is spacious and clean, with an ample wrap-around patio that affords spectacular views of the bay of Villefranche-sur-Mer, Cap Ferrat, Mount Alban and beyond. The home is very modern, well-appointed and sleeps six comfortably. There was a cancellation in our party so there were only 3 of us and we had plenty of room. The flat is on the top of a 4 story building which is well-maintained and quiet. Parking is available for guests. We walked...a lot... and, full disclosure, Villefranche is carved out of the steep cliffs of the Alpes-Maritimes so everything is up, up, up, and then down, down, down. The flat is roughly 3/4's up the side of the hill and we walked (down) to the village daily, at least once, and that means walking back up, so be prepared and bring good walking shoes. Parking in the village is very limited and there are few taxis. Noise also carries and this home is not quiet, particularly with noise from cars and motor scooters, but that didn't disturb us too much.
The property manager met us at the home and provided us a good overview of everything. The open floor plan is good for families or a group of close friends. The bathroom configuration is a bit odd for Americans: there is a powder room off the front door, a full bath with 2 sinks in the hallway, and the guest bedroom is fully en suite. The master bedroom, however, does not have a toilet, only a small sink and shower, but includes a very large closet. We struggled with the washer/dryer because the European models combine both into one machine and we don't have those here in the States. Fortunately, the instruction manual was not only available but made sense and, this being the second week of vacation, we could do our laundry. The home included a laundry drying rack, which was essential and we made use of it on the lovely patio. There is an awesome Bose sound system and one TV in the living room. While there were plenty of dishware, glasses, cups, utensils, etc... it would have been nice to have a couple of small appliances, like a coffee maker (we made due with a Bodum French press that worked just fine) and micro-wave, plus a few more spices and condiments. The home was also lacking any type of tourist information brochures so we left ours, which will hopefully be put to good use by future guests. This home is worth every penny and hopefully will be booked regularly.
