Idyllic farmhouse in perfect location!
This property was perfect for a long weekend getaway! The property itself was really spacious with lots of character. The hot tub was a massive bonus and could comfortably fit the seven of us. The surroundings are picturesque with a range of wildlife from the adorable dogs, to chickens and cows. We had an amazing weekend, and Louise was the perfect host. Would definitely return!
Lovely relaxing getaway
Beautiful cottage with all mod cons. Scenic views. Surrounding area has lots of walks of varying degrees of difficulty. Friendly hosts. Our toddler loved the chickens!
We really couldn't have asked for more, staying in the Lake District. The house provided the perfect base from which to explore the Lake District, not only to see the world-renowned sights of Coniston Water, Windermere and the such, but also for less trampled paths in the immediate vicinity. A stone's throw and lovely walk from the house, for example, will take you to Broughton Tower and its surrounding grounds.
Our time was made all the more pleasant by our accommodating and always smiling host who had to put up with nine boys next door for five days!
Not to mention the idyllic hot tub surrounded by some fine Lake District hills and their native sheep - extremely welcome after a long day of walking.
Couldn't recommend enough and I know where we'll be staying should we return.
Beautiful location, friendly owners, can't fault it!
The house is wonderful. Rustic but charming and really quirky so the kids absolutely loved it. Everything you need is there, lots of safe freedom for the kids and places to explore. We were sat in the hot-tub and some sheep and their lambs just wandered on past - it's so laid back! Perfect for an escape from busy lives, but close enough to Broughton to walk, and the Blacksmith Arms which was just gorgeous.
