About rob mason
We retired from teaching and nursing about 3 years ago. We fill our time with our B&B and rental cabins when we aren't traveling. We are thankful for being able to live in these beautiful mountains and being able to share what we have.
rob mason purchased this Cabin in 2014
Why rob mason chose Robbinsville
The Hemlock Hide Away is truly unique. Nothing compares to it, its in a class of its own. The surroundings will take your breath away and its just as cozy inside as it is outside. It took us 6 months to completely refurbish this old cabin and we strove to capture the original look form its hay day. We hope you'll agree.

Exactly where we wanted to be
This was an important birthday for me. My husband asked what I wanted. "A cabin the woods". And that is exactly what we got. So relaxing. So secluded. So everything we hoped for. Thank you to our hosts for providing an excellent experience.
great cabin and property
We loved this cabin and outside property, amazing stream in back. I would have loved to known there was no AC before we got there, we knew there was no cell service but landline was bad too, it had Apple TV which ran off of the internet which did a lot of buffering, no network or cable TV only Prime, Netflix, and Hulu. I don't want to sound like I'm complaining but renters should know these things. We loved this cabin and will return as we were assured that AC was being put in and considering this cabin is well off the grid in the woods, slow phone, internet, and TV is not surprising.
My boyfriend and I stayed here for a week with our two dogs and had so much fun. If you have the chance to rent the ATV definitely use it! My boyfriend enjoyed trout fishing on the property and the stream is so relaxing to listen to while reading. We’ve visited multiple cabins and this was our favorite!
Off the beaten path in a majestic setting. Charming cabin. Will be back!
Don't use GPS unless you want to get lost, get stuck in the mud, ruin your car and all this in an area without cell phone signal. If this sounds like fun then yes use your GPS. If not follow these directions to the letter.
Just get to Robbinsville any way you can. Once in Robbinsville go to the light across from Ingles supermarket and Walgreen's Drug. If you are facing Walgreen's Drugs go right at the light past McDonald's. You are 10 miles exactly to Buffalo Creek B&B from here. Now go straight on Hwy 129 North towards Tennessee 1.4 miles out of town till you come to Hwy 143 on your left, here you will also see signs for Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest, and Cheoah Ranger Station the local name for this road is Massey Branch. There is a gas station at the intersection. Go left, which is the only way here. Now stay on it till you come to the stop sign, about 3.3 miles up the road. This will be Snowbird Rd it will also say West Hwy. 143 but this is Snowbird Road. Go right exactly 4.4 miles to West Buffalo Road, NOTE: In about 2 miles it turns into Santeetlah Road but it keeps going straight. So just stay on Santeetlah Road and go straight. Just before you come to a large concrete bridge you will see West Buffalo Road on your left there is also a sign here for Cedar Cliff Baptist Church. Turn left here and keep going 5.0 miles to the B&B. As much as the road turns we are on West Buffalo Road. When the asphalt ends you will still have 3/4 mile to go. Don't turn till you come to the driveway to Buffalo Creek Bed & Breakfast. Don't turn up Huffman Creek Road on the right. As you are going up the dirt road you will cross a small bridge, immediately on the left past the bridge is the B&B. From the intersection of West Buffalo Creek Road and Huffman Creek Road the B & B is 1/2 mile.
You will see the sign next to the drive.
