We spent 9 nights in this delightful cottage and loved it! Linda and Martin are kind and friendly hosts who have created a wonderfully comfortable 'home away from home'. Linda provided a generous welcome basket including champagne and chocolates, fresh flowers on the table and best of all a beautiful Christmas tree and lights.
The 3 bedrooms are charming and the ensuite bathroom for each room is a bonus.
The kitchen is well-equipped and there is a dining room in a glassed annexe opening onto the garden which would be delightful in summer.
We loved sitting in the comfortable sofas around the log fire with the lights of the Christmas tree.
Beck Hole is a cute little hamlet and it's a lovely 20 minute walk along the river up to Goathland. We enjoyed dinner and a pint or two at the warm and friendly Mallyan Spout hotel.
The walk to Grosmet along the old railway track was another highlight as were day trips to Whitby, Robin Hood's Bay, Rievaulx Abbey and Castle Howard.
This is a beautiful part of the world and Brookwood Farm is a wonderful base to explore it. Highly recommended!
