Elegant apartment very close to the beach, entertainment and amenities.

'Garden View' is a delightful, well maintained and cared for spacious apartment with a definite sense of being close to the sea. From the front of the property you can see the white-washed building which is rear of The Grand Hotel - this apartment is so close to the seafront and yet so peaceful. The sound of the seagulls overhead and the lovely garden to relax in is a real bonus. Part of an imposing detached Victorian/Edwardian house but with it's own, private front door and garden. Situated a short walk from The Grand Hotel puts this property in an enviable location. In an area named 'Lower Meads', there are large, wide, quiet, tree-lined roads full of very beautiful large Victorian and Edwardian houses and stunning churches. Garden View is in a convenient location for the sea front, shops, train station, South Downs, Theatres, the Towner Gallery and the Devonshire Park tennis courts. There is a delicatessen at the end of Silverdale road as well as a few shops including a chemist and a fabulous vegetarian restaurant called 'The Green Almond'. Other shops including a Tesco and Cook are in 'The Meads'. The Meads also has two good pub/restaurants, shops and cafe's.

The apartment has been beautifully furnished and is well maintained.

The main bedroom is large with a Super Kingsize bed and wardrobe, cupboard and bedside tables. It has a door to the decked area in the garden and a view of the lawn.

The living room is vast, the decor was inspired by the close proximity to The South Downs, with wallpaper that is named 'The Sussex Downs' along the back wall. There is seating for six people at least. Once again it has a door to the garden, a dining table that extends to seat six people, bookshelves and console table, large coffee table and TV.

The second bedroom is a cheerful, colourful room with twin beds and a chest of drawers.

The kitchen is well equipped with a new cooker, dishwasher, microwave, and washing machine. There is a kitchen dining table that seats four people and a radio. The utility room has a tumble dryer as well as worktop and storage.

There are two loo's - one separate loo and one in the main bathroom with a bath/shower, sink and a pretty french style dresser for your things.

Hi - I fell for Eastbourne back in 1998, before I had children. We bought Garden View as a holiday home when my daughter, Franny was 2 yrs old and have had many happy memories there. I live in Tunbridge Wells but spend a lot of time in Eastbourne and Normans Bay. My family all live in Bexhill and help me to run and maintain the three properties I own with my husband James.

Our properties were successfully let through a local agent until this month. I have decided to run them myself because I feel I want to be more involved. It's the right time in my life.

I take great care and pride in the homes I have created and get great pleasure in sharing them with people who want to visit them.

The comments I receive from guests are often that their experience is 'home from home' which is why I have named my small business 'Home from Home'. I am a new 'Owner' on Owners Direct so do not have guest reviews as yet but will up-load some of the guest comments from the Guest Book in the property for you to read through.

I have travelled a lot and feel I know what it is that a guest is looking for. I aim for perfection and get a buzz after each and every successful booking.

Many say they will return and that gives me great job satisfaction.

I am an approved member of the EHA (Eastbourne Hospitality Association) and advertise with Visit Eastbourne under 'Home from Home'.

Why Tracey Parfitt chose Meads

Garden View is a roomy place to enjoy and relax. If you come with children, they will feel safe being all on one level, and yet there is enough living space to not feel on top of each other. The access to the large garden is easy from the lounge or from the main bedroom.

I always found two loo's very handy and three places to choose from to eat!

There is seating in the kitchen for 4, in the lounge for 6 and in the garden for 4. Location wise - it is quiet yet central. The beach is just a short walk to the end of the road. Eastbourne seafront is so well looked after and traditional - the Downs are at the end of the seafront with some incredible walks and views - inland the countryside and villages are well worth a visit.

What makes this apartment unique

I feel the spaciousness and location is unique.

Also the fact that you have the benefits of the large rooms that come with a large, period house - but have your own private entrance and private garden with a lawn and decking.

Garden View is a warm and charming place to relax - the garden is a delight - if you enjoy a BBQ, the large deck is a lovely place to cook and eat as a family.

Garden View is in a superb location. The seafront is a short walk away and access to The Meads, town and walks across the Downs is on your doorstep. The Theatres and Towner Gallery are a walk away, along with the Devonshire Park Tennis Club.

Spacious, tastefully furnished and comfortable place close to town and countryside

We stayed here the weekend of the Beachy Head marathon. It was a great base for preparing and recovering - walking distance to lots of restaurants and a couple of nice pubs. The flat is first rate - great kitchen and roomy lounge. The main bedroom's bed is the one of the largest and most comfortable we've ever slept in. Owners were great to deal with - super helpful, providing lots of info and advice.

Well located property

This well appointed property is in a convenient location for the town, shore and downs. The only disappointment during our stay was that the recommended Pilot Inn was not serving food due to a kitchen refurbishment.

Lovely property for a luxurious stay

Spacious, comfortable accommodation in a good residential area - quiet and peaceful. A beautifully decorated and very clean home-from-home. Within easy reach of the Towner Gallery, the beach, the pier and the theatre ... We found a wide range of places to eat and drink within walking distance. We also enjoyed trips on the train to Bexhill (De La Warr pavilion), Lewes and Brighton (Royal Pavilion). Wouldn't hesitate to come again! Many thanks also to Tracey for being so helpful and providing so much information to make our stay enjoyable.

They will hook up the electrics with the extractor fan (The windows in there are too high to open) so that it comes on with the light and has a delay when you turn it off. Fantastic spacious two bedroom flat walking distance to everything!

Garden View was a real home from home for our stay in Eastbourne. The flat has everything you need for a relaxing holiday - and is so comfortable and welcoming. And the garden is a huge added bonus. You're only 5 minutes walk from the beach and a fantastic deli (that made great picnics). And lovely restaurants and pubs, and the theatre (we saw Footloose!) are all within easy walking distance.

Couldn't recommend this place enough - we will be back!

Great location, lovely decor and very clean and comfortable. A great apartment and garden.

The property is a very well looked after and cared for holiday home. We were given some great information by Tracey (the owner) and were able to relax in the roomy apartment where it was peaceful - and in the garden. We were in such a good location behind the Grand Hotel - easily accessed the beach and The Downs by foot. We went to some lovely pubs and did some great walks (recommended by the owner). We came to England with our children for the school year so they could become fluent in English. We will be back! We fully recommend this property. (very comfortable beds!)

Garden View is in 'Lower Meads' which is a quiet area with many wide, leafy roads. The apartment is behind the Grand Hotel and the shops within the rear of the hotel range from a sewing shop to deli to restaurant. There is a fabulous cafe at The Wish Tower and a deck to enjoy a coffee and soak up the view of the promenade and Downs.

Town is easily accessed as well as the shops (Tesco/Cook) and pubs and cafe's in The Meads.

The Theatres and Towner Gallery are a walk away - as is the Devonshire Tennis Club.

Wonderful walks are on your doorstep. The South Downs Way takes you through Alfriston, past the Long Man of Wilmington, Friston Forest, Cuckmere Haven, and along the Seven Sisters. There is so much to see. A beautiful coastline and well looked after town and promenade.
