About the property

Beautiful family friendly property in a quiet cul-de-sac in Port Isaac

At the top of the hill and close to the coastal path in a quiet road overlooking Port Gaverne, the house sleeps 6 adults and two children comfortably in 4 bedrooms (one bunk room). All rooms have Millbrook Co. Handmade beds for a lovely nights' sleep. The property is decorated beautifully throughout and there is lots of space for everyone to have a relaxed holiday.

This three storey house has panoramic sea views (the most spectacular being the internal balcony in the attic room with bi-fold doors) and 2 bathrooms. There is enough parking on the private drive for 4 or 5 cars.

Bedroom 1 is in the attic and overlooks several miles of coastline, with Tintagel visible in the distance on a clear day. That bedroom has a supremely comfortable super king sized bed with luxurious Egyptian cotton bedding. The view is second to none through the open doors, rain or shine. This floor has a small bathroom with a shower.

Bedroom 2 is at the front of the property on the 1st floor and has a super king bed which can be split into twins if needed. Bedroom 3 is at the back with a king size bed and bedroom 4, the smallest room, has bunk beds. The first floor has a bathroom with a bath and shower.

The ground floor is open plan with a well equipped kitchen, dishwasher, washing machine and large range cooker (a Bellini Classic). The table seats 8 for family meals. The lounge area is homely yet child proof, with comfortable Laura Ashley sofas and a log burner.

Port Isaac is an historical Cornish fishing village on the north coast with lots to see and do both in the village and the surrounding area. Nathan Outlaw's 2 Michelin star restaurant is just a few minutes walk. The village is the home of the Doc Martin television series and has an abundance of good quality restaurants, cafes and independent shops. The small fishing community sells some of its fresh daily catch at the harbour side fish mongers, and at some of the village restaurants. If you want to travel further afield, Polzeath is just 6 miles along the coast and it is a short drive south to Padstow, Rock and Newquay or north to Bude and Boscastle.

Port Isaac can get very busy in the summer but this property has the advantage of being just a few minutes walk from the heart of the village in a quiet residential cul-de-sac at the top of the hill. It is close enough to be convenient but far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet of the beautiful North Cornwall coastline.

About Simon & Jodie

My husband and I both run our own businesses. We live and work in Plymouth, not far from Port Isaac. We have two small children. We were both brought up with holidays in North Cornwall and have idyllic memories of the beaches, ports and coastal villages, and we want the same for our boys. We searched all of Cornwall for the perfect family home and we found it perched on the top of the hill overlooking Port Gaverne one way and the stunning fishing village of Port Isaac the other way.

We have named 18 Hartland Road 'Chy-an-mor' which is Cornish for 'house by the sea'. The sea being just 160 metres away, the name couldn't be more appropriate.

Why Simon & Jodie chose Port Isaac

From the front and the outside, you could be fooled into thinking Chy-an-mor is nothing special. But once inside, all becomes clear. With a large open plan front room, dining room and kitchen on the ground floor, there is plenty of space for lazy family afternoons around the log burner, and cosy dinners around the 8 seater table. We have enlarged the back window with a floor to ceiling view of the garden and the sea, with comfy chairs to take in the view or read the paper. The first floor has 2 double bedrooms and a children's room with bunks. The second floor loft conversion has a breathtaking view right over to Tintagel. The whole property is spacious and designed for comfortable, luxurious, family living.

And unlike most properties in Port Isaac, the quiet cul-de-sac location affords great parking - we have room for 4 cars off road. The property is designed to be practical, not cottage like, with brand new boilers, heating, insulation and beds from the Handmade Bed Company. Having stayed in many a holiday let ourselves, our focus has been on clean, bright, spacious, comfortable, family accommodation.

Top quality holiday property

The property is a first rate place to spend your holiday in Cornwall. It has a high class interior with everything you could need. The sea views are extensive and every comfort is provided. Spotlessly clean. It is located in a very quiet street with the bars, restaurants of Port Isaac and Port Gaverne a short walk away.

Beautiful house in a great location. Just perfect.

We were a group of 7 staying here (2 under 5) and we had a fantastic time. Lots of home comforts and many unexpected but very welcomed ones too! The location was great as was the off road parking. I can not recommend the house highly enough and Jodie and Simon were great with their booking support and useful advice prior to arrival.

We look forward to another stay in the not too distant future.

Beautiful stay in a picturesque village

We are a family of two addults an three teens and had plenty of space in that well equipped house and garden. We stayed there for one week and did really enjoy our stay.

Stunning Cornish Coastal Views

The House is large, super clean, modern and recently updated with all Mod Cons and amazing internet access speed. The beds and bedding are Luxurious and you can guarantee a goods nights sleep. I loved the rose garden and BBQ area a great area for the children to play safely.

Overall the Views of the Coast and Sea are breathtaking and the beaches are just a short pleasant walk away. In the village the pubs and restaurants are a must and be careful you might get caught on camera with Doc Martin being filmed there much of the time.
