Hot tub not working and have not received refund for this extra payment yet
Lovely semi detached cottage in a central location in the middle of a housing estate. Enclosed gardens so safe for dogs. Warm and comfortable.
Unfortunately we paid for the hot tub in advance and got a message on the day we were to arrive that it was not working as the pipes were frozen (winter weather). Owner advised she would refund money straight away for hot tub but have still not received it and almost a month since we stayed there. We received the refund for the deposit as this is paid through the booking site. Have contacted the owner on several occasions but always an excuse of why it has not been refunded yet. strange since owner had advised that she would need to put hot tub on 2 days prior to arrival so that it heats up sufficiently but then just a few hours prior to our arrival she advises that the cleaning crew only tried to fill up and put on that morning at 5am. Owner also stated that last guests had used hot tub and had left at 4am that morning so cleaning crew went in at 5am and that previous guests had used the hot tub and not followed instructions. On arrival I managed to defrost the hose to fill hot tub up, followed instructions on how to operate from youtube and owner sending info but the motor must have been faulty as it kept cutting out and giving error codes. followed all guidance to address error codes and still did not work. Still awaiting refund and wondering what the next excuse from own is.
Lovely cottage but don't pay for any extras otherwise you may lose your money
I am writing on behalf of the owner I am the property manager
First of all you were given the choice prior to arrival after you said you were cancelling on the day of arrival the owner offered you a full refund but you decided on the end to cone and stay and you had the hot tub continuously on for 2 days even though we advised you it was not working
The owner husband passed away suddenly after your vacation of which you were advised off so quite harsh and unfair to say the owner was making excuses
We also advised you we had a last minute booking and the guests had used the hot tub without permission and this left us a very short time frame to sort the hot tub as they were not meant to use it
The owner was very honest and upfront with you we sent you a video of us at the property clearly showing the problems you then agreed to come knowing the hot tub wasn't in use but you choose to try and fix yourself the hot tub was running for 2 full days
We have since had guests staying and hot tub is working fine
The owner at present is grieving so sorry you felt compelled to put this comment on as we have never had any bad reviews before and we were honest and upfront with you from start to finish
Lovely cottage - perfectly situated for both Glasgow and Loch Lomond
Really enjoyed our stay here in this lovely little cottage. It was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. It was also a really convenient location - just round the corner from the train station for day trips into Glasgow but also only a 10 minute drive to Loch Lomond. Our host Ali could not have been more helpful and we felt very much at home. Thank you !
Lovely cottage, lovely owners
We spent 4 nights at the cottage for family trip. Ali had a lovely welcome basket waiting for us. The owners were very attentive and welcoming. The place was clean, tidy and had all the amenities we needed to accommodate a young child, is and the grandparents. There’s a large bedroom and a full size bathroom downstairs and a secondary bedroom and bathroom upstairs. The upstairs bedroom has a queen size bed in addition to a nice pull out sleeper couch. There’s a very nice backyard where we enjoyed the gorgeous weather. As far as the location - it can’t be beat - rail is around 5 min walking distance. Grocery stores are close by and very walkable. The sustrans bike / walk trail to Glasgow is just around 5 min walk. We all had such a lovely vacation here.
