Your home from home in the most beautiful part of London
A cosy basement studio on picturesque Talbot Road, this flat is perfect for couples or those with a young child looking to explore London while living like a local.
Situated on a quiet road, the location is the perfect combination of central and quiet. With an abundance of pubs and restaurants just minutes from the house, as well as easy access by bus, tube or foot to Central London and all the major sights, there's good reason Notting Hill is one of the most desired areas to live in London!
PLEASE NOTE Sunday 27th & Monday 28th August is Notting Hill Carnival. Most roads in the area are blocked, and there are no buses so please only book the flat if you are coming to enjoy the Carnival.
A cosy yet spacious studio flat, the space consists of a large living room/bedroom area with a separate kitchen and bathroom.
The flat has been recently redecorated, and you will find everything you need to be comfortable in this quiet haven. The flat is clean, bright and well maintained with fresh, good quality sheets and towels for every guest as well as shampoo, conditioner, body wash and moisturiser. If you want to cook, you will find the basics such as olive oil, salt and pepper, butter and spices. Other helpful amenities include a hair dryer, hangers, iron and ironing board, washing machine and dryer.
Please note there is WiFi so you can watch films on your laptop/iPad but there is no TV in the flat.
There is a travel cot available on request for those with a child up to three years old.
Guests have access to the entire flat plus the little patio area at the front. Everything in the kitchen and bathroom can be used by guests.
Talbot Road is in a very trendy part of Notting Hill, just a two minute walk from fashionable Westbourne Grove where you can find a huge array of excellent restaurants, cosy pubs, and great breakfast spots as well as great shopping. Almost every kind of food is catered for, and I honestly believe that the nearby Chinese restaurant and Greek restaurant are two of the best in London. I have lots of eating and drinking tips for those who book with me.
Hyde Park is walking distance, as is Kensington where you can find the high street for shopping, plenty more restaurants and cafes, as well as the Royal Albert Hall, the V&A Museum, the Natural History Museum and so much more. If you love shopping, Oxford Street is just a few stops on the tube or 10 minutes on the bus, and you can get to Westfield Shopping Centre in White City in 15 minutes.
Notting Hill is one of the premium areas to live in London – and you can be a local while you visit London! The area is much loved due to its beautiful old building, the iconic Portobello Market, and its wonderful mix of buzzing places to eat and drink, and quiet safety during the night.
Nearest tube station is Royal Oak (7 mins away) on the Hammersmith and City Line and takes you to Paddington, Baker Street, Euston Square, Kings Cross/St Pancras, and Liverpool Street, as well as many stops in between.
Notting Hill Gate tube station (12 minutes) is on the Central Line, Circle Line and District taking you to loads of places such as Bond Street, Oxford Circus, Westminster, St Paul's and many more.
There are plenty of buses round the corner taking you into Central London, the museums, and Westfield shopping centre.
It is also very easy to access all the major airports (Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton, Stansted) and train stations - Paddington is a 20 minute walk (or short bus ride), Victoria is five stops away, Kings Cross is six stops away, and Liverpool Street is 10 stops away!
From the flat you can easily get to:
Portobello Market (10 min walk)
Madame Tussauds (15 mins by tube)
Kensington Palace (20 min walk)
Hyde Park (20 min walk)
Buckingham Palace (30 min by tube)
Natural History Museum (20 min by bus)
Science Museum (20 min by bus)

Soho (35 min by bus)
Harrods (30 min by tube)
Westminster Abbey / Big Ben (25 min by tube)
St Paul’s Cathedral (30 min by tube)
The London Eye (35 min by tube)

Other things to note
This flat is for up to two adults (if you have a young child, I can provide a travel cot). There is no sofa bed so I cannot accommodate extra people.
Please note that if you arrive after 6pm, I may ask you to come to my house to collect the keys. My house is one minute away from the flat, and you will pass it on the way from Royal Oak station so it's very easy.
If you smoke on the patio, please keep the front door shut, and put all cigarette ends in the ashtray.

Hi! I'm Jessie, a born-and-bred Londoner living in Notting Hill with my little rescue dog, Roman. I love horse riding, experimenting with my hair colour (currently blue!) and also travelling. So far some of my favourite countries are Iceland, Ethiopia, Palestine and Japan. This year I'll be visiting Panjab, Mongolia, Kenya, Uganda and wherever else I might find myself! I love my home city and have lived in the Notting Hill area my whole life, so I'm a bit of an expert on the place! As a host I hope to make you feel as at home as possible, and I am local to the flat meaning I can be on hand for whatever you need. Please feel free to ask me any questions - I look forward to meeting you!

Great location! Very friendly host!
Everything was perfect.
Sleep to the soft sound of St. Christopher's bells.
Everything Ms. Khera describes about her rental and the neighbourhood is accurate. The Royal Oaks tube station was our preferred station and bus access just around the corner was even more convenient. The bed, kitchen and bathroom were all you could ask for. I hesitate to add any criticism but I feel I must. As a ground floor flat, (below street level) and it being December, the floor was quite cold. Warm slippers would have helped. This was probably made worse by the faulty heating system which needed to be drained to remove the trapped air in the pipes. On the few nights we forgot to turn down the heat as we retired we were quickly reminded to do so by the incessant variety of unpleasant and loud noises issuing from the heating panel at the head of the bed. If you leave the heat on at night you will not sleep. Fortunately, adequate blankets are provided for a comfortable sleep without the heating system operating.
All in all, we were happy with the studio. Perhaps we are just spoiled Canadians who expect well functioning and comfortable indoor temperatures. If that is the case, then I apologize.
To conclude on a more pleasant note—if you enjoy walking, and London is essentially flat, we walked comfortably from the London Oratory in South Kensington through Hyde Park and Bayswater-Notting Hill on Christmas Day in less than one hour. With pleasant weather and adequate time you should be able to walk just about everywhere you care to. You will certainly enjoy exploring the Bayswater/Notting Hill area on foot.
The heating has now been fixed - indeed the boiler needed to be topped up with some water, and is now soundless as usual. Thank you for your review John.
Just would maybe have a larger bed or a sleeper couch! Excellent location! Within walk distance of so much! Just a nice neighborhood!!! Maybe a radio!? We enjoyed it!
Tidy suite with plenty of room for 2 people. Everything we needed was there for our 5 night stay and the neighbourhood has all the amenities you need within a 5 minute walk.
