Set on the fringes of the delightful Peak District village of Chelmorton there is a local village pub for kicking off muddy boots and relaxing after a day spent outdoors. The stunning Chatsworth House Farm Shop and Gardens are a short drive away. The popular towns of Bakewell Matlock and Buxton provide an array of independent shops cafes and pubs to enjoy. Surrounded by open fields you will find public footpaths from the doorstep to explore exactly what the stunning Peak District countryside has to offer. Approached via the sweeping driveway from the road which will lead you to the complex which comprises of three barn conversions and secluded touring caravan pitches. Located on the left hand side on the building you will find the welcoming accommodation. Stepping into the spacious entrance hall being the perfect place to kick off muddy boots and overcoats will lead you through into the social open-plan Lounge/kitchen/diner. The kitchen boasts everything you need for a comfortable stay such as fridge/freezer washing machine electric Range oven and hob and dishwasher. Ample comfy seating to relax in and a dining table large enough for the whole family to come together around not forgetting the TV/DVD all surrounded by large glass windows where the light just floods in. The accommodation benefits from a downstairs double bedroom with en-suite bathroom with enclosed shower separate bath and WC. Upstairs you will find two large double bedrooms both with en-suite bathrooms with shower over bath and WC. Two additional twin bedrooms share a bathroom with shower over bath and WC. Outside is a large patio courtyard with ample seating for alfresco dining or BBQ s. There is plenty of space in the adjacent grass field for more outdoor fun and games and dog walking. The site offers ample off road parking. There is also a shared games room with a pool table for all to enjoy.

House is almost perfect.
On the whole this is an amazing house, couldn't be cleaner, everything is new and super comfortable. However, because there were 10 of us a few things made it challenging. Total lack of large saucepans! Try cooking for ten in 4 little pans. Lack of counterspace. There is a huge area where a lovely big island would have made all the difference (it felt like it was planned to have one). You need a bigger fridge for food and drinks for 10 people. We struggled to fit in what everyone brought before we even went shopping. Also, the connecting door let through some noise from the other house. It wasn't much, but they probably got sick of listening to us. These things are easy fixed.
What can't be fixed is the lack of privacy and this is the reason for the 3 stars. The photos advertising the house have been taken really cleverly so you don't get any idea of the real aspect. We were expecting a nice view of the countryside but there are only windows in one wall in the whole of the building (all other rooms have skylights or windows near the ceiling) and those windows look out at the car park, beyond that was the camper parking. The collecting point for the rubbish is right outside. There we were, in the middle of beautiful countryside with no view from anywhere!
The house is also right next to the shared bathroom/washing facilities and we had a constant stream of people walking past (mostly in bathrobes and slippers) staring in. The bbq is also there on the tiny patio, people walking past felt it was okay to comment and it became very intrusive. So, no sitting outside enjoying your own company in your private area gazing over the green hills. If that's what you want, this house definitely isn't for you.
