This modern guesthouse/apartment is situated on the outskirts of Listaros on the main road to Kali Limenes beach and at an altitude of approximately 250m that guaranties unspoilt views.

The stone and concrete modern building is sympathetically designed to blend into the surrounding countryside and be appropriate for its proximity and the picturesque village of Listaros. The finishes are in natural stone and all windows and doors are in wood. The house apartment offers superb views across rolling countryside, down to the sea and across to the Paximadia Islands and enjoys spectacular sunsets from all of the large windows and balcony.

The residence of 70.50m2 offers a large comfortable lounge room with steps leading to a 14m2 mezzanine floor doublebedroom. The fully equipped bathroom and the fitted kitchen are reached by 3 steps down from the lounge room. The balcony has spectacular views of the entire Messara gulf and Psiloritis Mountains.

The property offers independent central heating throughout and a wood stove for the winter months, air-conditioning for the summer months, solar panels for warm water and all necessary house equipment – washing machine, dishwasher machine, coffee maker, satellite tv, wi-fi internet connection, fully equipped kitchen with necessary utensils, cd & book library.

The ground floor is rehabilitated to the owner’s private house which alongside offers an outdoor tiled seating area of 200m2 with pergolas and garden available to all Ksa sou guests for meeting and relaxing.

And of course there is also something special about the village of Listaros. Because of the rolling countryside and panoramic view of the countryside, mountains and sea views with no hustle and bustle, it is a comforting place to relax while being conveniently situated for easy access to other villages, the sea and a good link to Heraklion. This ancient village is at an altitude of approximately 250m which allows it to enjoy a very mild winter climate. It is only 6kms from the nearest beaches of Kommos and Matala and there are several quiet beaches and bays of natural and unspoilt beauty nearby. It is only 2.5kms from Sivas with several shops and tavernas and 12 kms from the large town of Mires with all facilities and 65 kms to Heraklion.

Our neighbourhood - The bay and valey of Mesara!

In an island full of climatologically and environmental diversities, the area of the Mesara has a unique character and a lot of diversities to offer itself. It is the largest plain of Crete that extends to the central and southern region of Heraklion County. It is surrounded from the north by mount Idi (Psiloritis), from east by mount Dicti and from south by mount Asterousia that meet with the Libyan Sea. While the land of the Mesara plain is one of the most fertile on the island, the landscape changes dramatically as the traveller reaches mount Asterousia. A few small ports are the only ones that disrupt the deserted scenery.

Monkshood blossomed here from the 7th till the 15th century, something that can be easily detected by the number of monasteries and sketes found in the near gorges and canyons. Some of the finest examples are the monasteries of Odigitrias, Koudouma and Apezanon, the sketes of Saint Nikita, Marsalo and Agiofarago gorge. At the edge of the western point of mount Asterousia lies Listaros Village, the last passage to the mountain and the south coast.


Interesting traditional settlements: Sivas, Vreli, Apolihnos, Monohoros, Manousana, Rogdiana.

Caves :The Cave of Camaron, one of three caves in Crete used for worshipping the ancient gods Gorge, Agiofarago gorge , Martsaliotiko gorge

Natura 2000 Areas :The coast from Kali Limenes to Kokkinos Pyrgos-Timbaki. And in particular the protected areas of Matala beach with its characteristic caves, as well as Kommos and Katalyki Beaches where careta-careta turtles reproduce.

Archaeological Sites :The Minoan Palace of Faistos, Minoan Palace of Agia Triada, the archeological site of Komos, Paleochristian Baptistery of Apostle Pavlos (Apostle Paul)

Churches : Only in the provinces of Kainouriou and Pirgiotissis, 87 medieval and renaissance temples can be found.


Mountainous Area of Asterousia: Monastery of Odigitrias (14th century) and Monastery of Saint Antonios Apezanon (16th century).

Mountainous Area of Mount Idi (Psiloritis): Monastery of Saint Fanourios or Varsamonerou (13th- 15th century) and Monastery of Saint Antonios Vrontisiou. Lowland Area Monastery of Panagias Kardiotissas (14th century), Monastery of Saint George Falandras (16th century) and the Monastery of Panagias Kalivianis (20th century).
