Large (4,000 sq ft) and bright family home, perfect for group get-togethers in a very quiet spot in the countryside. 6 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms: ideal for 3 families. Maximum: 8 adults and up to 4 kids (if one couple doesn't mind less comfy single beds), but more comfy for 6 adults and 6 kids.

Lots to do outside. Tennis court. Very large garden with trampoline and kids' climbing frame/swings/slide. Beautiful in the spring and summer, with flowers filling the garden and bluebells in the woods. Surrounded by the lovely Surrey Hills, walks and pubs. Exercise bike in the outside games room.

Cosy in the winter with roaring fire. Very large kitchen/dining area for hosting large groups. Stacks of space for kids to play indoors if the weather is poor.


The downstairs revolves around the large kitchen, with island for informal meals and a large main table for big meals. Two large reception rooms, one cosy in the winter with an open fire, the other full of sunlight and games for the kids. TVs in both (with Sky, Apple TV and Netflix) so no fighting over options...

Upstairs are 6 bedrooms. 1 master bedroom with super-king bed. 2 double rooms with relatively new, very deep and comfortable mattresses. 3 single/twin rooms, each with a main single bed and a truckle bed that comes out from underneath (perfectly comfortable in each case). So the layout can definitely do three families, assuming 3 couples and 6 kids (more than 6 kids would need a mattress on the floor). 3 bathrooms so plenty to go around!


Lots of parking outside the house - enough for 8 cars easily.

The house is surrounded by 4 acres of garden, field, tennis court (recently re-surfaced), endless flower beds and several outside eating options including a table and chairs for large groups on the terrace and a smaller one in a sun spot by the kitchen. So much to keep the kids occupied: trampoline, climbing frame, swings, perfect hide and seek spaces, an outbuilding full of games, a train set and more.

Above all, we are surrounded by the stunning Surrey Hills. Walk in any direction of the compass from our house and you will find lovely walks with great pubs at the end of them. There are no major towns anywhere near us. No traffic noise at all (very rare for Surrey). Just a lovely place to be.


The village of Farley Green doesn't have that many facilities, just a pub (the William IV). But the nearby very pretty village of Shere has everything you'd need (7 mins away): two excellent pubs, food shop, two cafes (one particularly nice), a very popular sweet shop, a further restaurant, doctor's surgery, etc.

Guildford, with its excellent shopping, many restaurants and fast trains to London, is only about 20 mins away. The nearest train station for London is Clandon, with direct trains to Waterloo and Victoria.


Guests would have access to the whole place, other than one outbuilding housing our friendly tenants who keep an eye on the place for us. They'll stay completely out of your way, but are around if you need any questions answering.

We have a cat, although you probably won't see him while you're here! For that reason, we'd have to ask you to keep dogs out of the house I'm afraid (sleeping in an out-building or cars OK of course).

Bob and Louise’s house is fantastic! The photographs do not do it justice!

Bob and Louise were the perfect hosts in the lead up, during and after our stay. Very kind, generous and extremely informative info was given to us for our New Year break. The house was much bigger than the photos show - a lovely entrance hall, great play room with indoor air hockey and table football (perfect for kids and grown ups!) and an amazing, spacious, well equipped kitchen. The bedrooms are a great size and were perfect for our party. The grounds to the house are breathtaking with lots of fun had on the trampoline and tennis courts with great wildlife spotting. I thoroughly recommend this house as we had a perfect New Year break here and even talking about staying there again.

A great house in beautiful surroundings

We had a great time at the house and Bob and Louise were very helpful in answering all our questions. We were a group of three families - 6 adults and 5 kids (all under 5). There was plenty of space indoor and out for everyone. Whilst we were very lucky with the weather and had a very warm weekend with most of the time spent in the garden, even if the weather had not been so kind to us, there still would have been plenty of space inside. The property was very clean and tidy when we arrived and Bob and Louise had been kind enough to leave us with a bottle of wine in the fridge for our arrival. Any minor queries we did have during our stay, Bob was very quick at replying to and very helpful. Would thoroughly recommend and would love to go back.
