Beautiful, generously proprtioned property, a lovely peaceful getaway.
The property is very easy to find, being situated on the road between Polignano a mare and Castellano. It is set in its own grounds, back from the main road. There is little to no traffic noise. It is a imposing (in a good way) place to drive up to and looks lovely. Chantal met us at the property to showed us around, and I quickly realised that my Italian is next to useless! (A note, I don't think may British tourists make it this far south in Italy, very few people spoke English, something I rather liked!). The property itself is very secure and has a large enclosed courtyard with outdoor seating for lots (didn't count it up!) and a BBQ area. There is a wood store for fire building. Being enclosed, it can be a good shelter from the wind. There is an additional enclosed area with hay bale seating and a garden with swing and a slide, my kids loved it. In the grounds there are olive, almond, pomegranate and prickly pear trees, and many rosemary and lavender bushes. The kids saw some great wildlife (lizards, praying mantis, scorpions, etc.). Heading inside, there is a small kitchen with all the facilities you'd need, we enjoyed some great meals around the table. There is a toilet with washing machine and a cosy snug. Upstairs there is a big lounge with TV and five bedroom (one is completely alone, the others are two adjoining twos) and four bathrooms, all with showers (no baths). It is nicely furnished with modern fittings and cosy beds. In terms of the local area, there is supermarket just down the road (but a car is essential for getting around), there is not a lot in Triggianello (lovely bakery though), Polignano a mare is a lovely old town, parking is cheap and there are lots of restaurants to choose from, Ostuni is worth a visit too, great views. There are a lot of rocky/stony beaches, south of Monopoli there are some more sandy ones. However, as we went slightly out of season (end of October), the beaches were rather dirty with lots of litter and quite a lot of the restaurants were closed. Food is good, and pretty cheap, with seafood pasta being particularly awesome. One thing that took a bit of getting used to was the 'quiet time,' everything basically shuts down from 1:30-4pm, places are like ghost towns! If you are going to the area, this place should definitely be on your shortlist of accommodation!
first I would like to say thank you to Chantal that did everything she could to make our staying more confortable/vorrei ringraziare Chantal che ha fatto di tutto e di piu per farci sentire a nostro agio.
The place is stunning, an amazing Masseria not far from Polignano and the Castellana's Caves. If you are a large group of people is just perfect, beautifully kept, functional, quiet, surranded by nature, great interior and decoration. I have only prizes for this place/ Un posto spettacolare, tra Polignano e le Grotte di Castellana, perfetto per famiglie e gruppi.
