Chez Bourgogne Farmhouse is a newly renovated traditional French property attached to the original barn that has also been renovated. It is situated in superb rolling countryside with magnificent panoramic views overlooking surrounding trees, fields and quaint hamlets dotted on the landscape. The property has been developed to a high standard blending both traditional and new, resulting in comfortable and relaxing accommodation that retains it's original rustic charm. Conveniently located just a short 5 minute drive to the pretty village of Verteillac with its shops, bars, bank and restaurants

About Helen Barrett

Anthony & Helen moved to France in 2011 from Hertfordshire in the UK. Since moving to Nanteuil Auriac de Bourzac we have been working full time to renovate our property. We live the other side of a small country lane that separates the barn and farmhouse gites so that our guests can enjoy their own privacy, but which also means we are on hand for any help if needed. We had a fantastic stay. The farmhouse was lovely, well equipped with a great pool, set in a beautiful area.

Helen & Tony were very welcoming & helpful. We couldn't have asked for more.

Simply wonderful

We have just returned from a truly wonderful stay at Helen and Tony's house. The house is immaculate, pretty, comfortable and well equipped. The garden with pool, pergola, barbecue, pétanque and gorgeous views - wonderful. Helen provided everything g needed for our little granddaughter, including a paddling pool, which made for a happy time for all six of us. She and Tony could not have been more helpful or pleasant. They recommended restaurants and day trips but the property was so lovely that most of our daytimes were spent there. It sits in some of the most beautiful rolling hills I have ever seen. What more can I say?

To the West and South West of Bordeaux are an abundance of beautiful beaches that can be reached in about 2 hours by car. The famous Dune de Pyla is located just outside Arcachon, which also offers a ferry service to Cap Feret.

Nearby Aubeterre has a magnificent man made beach which offers swimming, canoeing and horse riding. Aubeterre is approx 15 minutes by car


Our nearest airport is Bergerac Airport which is just over 1 hour by car. Bordeaux and Limoges Airports are approx 1 and 1/2 half hours by car.

Anguoleme train station has a fast train connection to Paris/london and can reached in approx 30 mins

Car hire/ use of car is recommended


Verteillac 5 minute drive

Aubeterre 15 minutes drive

Riberac 15 minutes drive

Our local village of Verteillac is 5 minutes by car (or bike if you are feeling energetic) and has good shops, bars , bank and restaurants

The nearby towns of Villebois Lavallete and Riberac, both approx 15 minutes by car have large supermarkets with superb restaurants nearby offering gastronomic cuisine. We will be pleased to provide more information on local restaurants when you arrive

The beautiful village of Aubeterre with it's stunning monolithic church set in the side of the cliff is a must place to visit and can be reached in approx 15 minutes by car

Arrival time is after 5 pm and we kindly ask that you arrange to leave before 10.00 am on the departure day

Manager's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date.
  • 100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
