About Harvey Day
I am a semi-retired general contractor. I grew up in Arizona and attended Arizona State University. I love living in Norther New Mexico and enjoy hiking, rafting and skiing. I enjoy meeting people from other parts of the U.S. and abroad. I can help you out with things to visit and great hikes nearby.

The solitude was perfect!
Perfect location for exploring the area. Hope to rebook soon.
Wonderful, quiet spot with a great view and bunnies!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Abiquiu. We wanted a quiet, comfortable spot with a great view -- a place to cook, talk, and tour some of northern New Mexico. We got that and bunnies!
Cozy Adobe casita
We had an incredibly productive week at this peace and quiet casita. Love the little friends around the house (bonnies, birds, hummingbirds, squarrels).
Comfortable stay in the desert
This is a beautiful place in desert - comfortable and well-equipped with everything we needed in the kitchen, and nice thick towels. We loved the passive solar power and rainwater system. The sunroom was one of the best parts of the house - we ate breakfast out there and sat there at the end of the day and watched birds and rabbits in the yard. The location was excellent for visiting the Georgia O’Keeffe house at Abiquiu and for hiking at Ghost Ranch. Communication with Harvey was easy and he sent good directions. A beautiful, quiet place to stay - we definitely recommend it.
Stars, wildlife, lessons in conservation...
We loved our four-day stay in Harvey's casita. We always try to choose accommodations which conserve energy, water, and other resources. This house is perfectly designed for passive use of the sun for heating, and retaining or dissipating heat in the interior rooms just by adjusting windows and doors. (Sounds almost archaic in our air-conditioned age!) We thrill to such great design! Plus, we enjoyed the Scaled Quail, Lark Sparrows, Western Tanagers, Black-headed Grosbeaks, Scrub Jays, Common Ravens, and other birds in the yard. And finally, Harvey was the nicest host guests could ever want (going above and beyond, chaining our bogged rental car out of the mud!).
The home is warm and welcoming, just like Harvey! I loved sitting in the hammock and looking out the window at the landscape and mountains and the birds and bunnies. The bathroom is large and has plenty of warm towels, the kitchen has everything you need to make a meal and the bed is warm and comfortable. Harvey is a great host who made sure that I had everything I needed. It is clear that he put a lot of love and care into this house.
