L-shaped, 4 double bed, 2 bath, huge main room. Surrounded by garden & country.
A unique, 4-bedroom barn conversion in the corner of a secluded courtyard.
Rated 4 star by 'VisitEngland' recently, who described it as 'a striking conversion, providing a very good standard of self-catering accommodation'.
The house has just been re-decorated and furnished to a high standard. Original features of the old stables have been retained, in the sympathetically restored master bedroom, including beams and names of the former equine residents!
The master suite includes a Kingsize bed with en-suite shower and garden access. A double bedroom also has French windows to the garden. Two twin bedrooms complete one side of the L- shaped house. All beds & mattresses are brand new. There is also a family bathroom with bath & shower.
The other 'half' of the L houses the enormous living room and kitchen, with wood-burner, flat-screen TV, large French windows to the garden, which surrounds the house. The old wood kitchen table seats 8. There's even a bed for a well-behaved dog, who has easy access to the garden & great walks in the surrounding countryside.
A trip to the renowned 'Old Inn' pub across the road is a must, if you don't feel like cooking. They cook delicious pizzas in an outdoor oven.
There's a washer/dryer in the well-equipped kitchen. There's also a travel cot and high-chair for babies and hair dryers in the two double bedrooms.

About Mrs AMH
We are a family of 5 - with 3 teenagers, who need plenty of sleep and activities in equal measure. We've fallen in love with East Dorset, for it's countryside, stunning coastline and fun things to do. Based in London for a decade, we now divide our time between Dorset and Switzerland - as we love nature and the great outdoors - be it the mountains or seaside.
Mrs AMH purchased this Bungalow in 2016
Why Mrs AMH chose Holt
Having looked for a couple of years, we decided being near to the New Forest AND the Jurassic coastline was ideal. It's very quiet, but there's plenty to do - and nearby Wimborne Minster has all the amenities you could want. Having room for 8 people and a garden were also important for us. We wanted a property with character, but easy to manage. This ticked all the boxes for us, and the kids love it as much as we do.
What makes this Bungalow unique
We've been amazed at the variety of things to do, from a waterski school at a nearby lake, to a sanctuary for monkeys, and a 'Go Ape' activity centre in the forest, with zipwires (at Moors Valley country park). There are also great restaurants in Wimborne Minster, with its' own theatre, that also shows movies. It's a corner of paradise, where you can chill out, unwind and do something different every day, if you want to. Every time I visit I want to stay longer...

Barn was in lovely setting and location loads of room for all 8 of us
Just Wonderful! Perfect getaway for us ladies celebrating a 40th Birthday.
When we arrived at the Courtyard we were amazed at the living space, it is so much bigger than how it looks in the pictures. Everyone was overwhelmed with how idyllic it was. A lovely and big well kept garden with views on to the adjacent field, just a shame we didn't have the weather to utilise the garden more. The kitchen was well equipped with plenty of crockery & cutlery and good quality utensils/appliances. The separate fridge and freezer were of a standard size but being a big group, if staying for longer than 3 days we would have needed more fridge space. The wine cooler was a godsend.
Throughout the barn it is tastefully decorated with the odd ornament/fixture adding some quirkiness to the place. We all loved the wooden elephant shaped seat in the hall way. I felt the main bathroom was average compared to the rest of the property however perfectly adequate.
A few things such as a cake on arrival and some wellies in the cupboard added an extra touch.
We had a lovely meal in The Kings Head in Wimborne, so due to time only went for a drink in the friendly pub opposite (will try The Old Inn next time for food).
We all left thinking, 'I wish this was my home' and have already looked at future dates to come back for a family holiday!
Thank you Angela, from start to finish it was seamless - making the enquiry, booking and staying in your beautiful property.
Cozy and welcoming in a peaceful location
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this well furnished barn conversion. It was in a lovely peaceful rural location. The pub at the end of the lane served excellent food with a good range of local beers. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in the area.
Property very comfortable and well equipped.
Central base for everything we wanted to do.
Thanks for your lovely review. So glad your New Year trip to our cottage worked out. Hope 2018 is a great year for you all. With best wishes.
Beautiful peaceful country retreat
We really enjoyed our visit to this beautiful country property. We were a party of eight adults. The fixtures and fittings are luxurious and we found the beds and sofas extremely comfortable. The kitchen is very well equipped. The pub at the end of the lane was lovely, great food and a lovely atmosphere and only having to walk for two minutes from the property was a big bonus. We would definitely all return, thank you Angela :-)
I'm glad you all enjoyed your time at our house for your birthday weekend, Rachel. We look forward to welcoming you back,
all the best,
Great location. Great pub a stones throw away literally
Cream carpets with dogs allowed is the only thing we thought was a little off putting especially in autumn and winter.
All in all a lovely place. Beautifully designed and decorated. Spacious too
Dear Ian -
Thanks for the feedback - hope you and the dogs had a good time!
All the best,
Holt is a very typical rural English village in Dorset, with thatched cottages. The wonderful pub, the Old Inn, is the heart of village life and across the road from The Courtyard. Being equidistant from the New Forest and the Jurassic coastline, the location offers a great variety of holiday activities; from forest cycle rides and dog walks, to the seaside and inland lakes & waterparks. The Moors Valley Country Park is only 10km away with an adventure park and bikes for hire.

Additional information about rental rates
We will issue a rental agreement for you, before confirming holiday let, which will set out a few more house rules, that we'd like you to know in advance. Especially with regard to pets, whilst one dog is welcomed, no cats are allowed, as our son's allergic to them! The double room is set up with 'anti-allergy' bedding, for anyone who can't handle feathers...
