About Mrs Mowbray
So excited when the opportunity came up to have our own little cottage in Matlock. It's a place I visited when I was a child and still love it today. Great for winding down after all the stresses of work!
Mrs Mowbray purchased this Cottage in 2015
Why Mrs Mowbray chose Matlock
It's quirky, feels remote although you can hear traffic, but yet walking distance to all amenities - restaurants, shops, bars, supermarket etc Cute, with lovely views of High Tor from the front. The entire cottage is at your disposal. Well equipped Kitchen. Good base for lots of walking in Derbyshire We have made arrival easy for you (keys are in a key safe so you can arrive at your convenience) Waste system is on a seperate system. Only toilet paper must be put down the toilet. That includes flushable wipes cannot be used. We have a mobile pocket internet available costs are extra £2.99 to £25 for 500MB to 7GB
What makes this Cottage unique
There's lots to visit for both adults and children without needing to get in the car. Matlock illuminations - 8 weeks with each weekend with fireworks September to October annually. Matlock Bath is like seaside in the countryside - arcades, fish & chips!

Very well equipped, clean and cozy
We so enjoyed staying in this “storybook cottage”. It was very well situated for train travel in the area, easy to get to the local attactions, Chatsworth House, Heights of Abraham and all the local “walks”.
Thanks Jackie. Glad to hear you enjoyed your srat
Property conveniently placed between Matlock & Matlock Bath - slight climb up the hill as well as the steps to the property and the gap between the steps from the front door inside would rule out anyone who has mobility issues.
Enjoyed our stay though.
Great, well equipped cottage for exploring Derbyshire
Lovely cottage which was a perfect base for us (family of four with two young children aged 6 and 3) for exploring Derbyshire. No outside parking so a little walk to the cottage and up some steps but wasn’t a problem for us. The bed was really comfy and the shower was lovely and powerful with plenty of hot water - just what was needed after a long day walking in the rain.
Kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed. Struggled to get the oven to work initially but after a bit of fiddling we managed it. Tracey called back after knowing we had a problem to check all was ok which was nice.
We walked to the Heights of Abraham and can thoroughly recommend Kostas fish and chips in Matlock bath!
Glad you enjoyed your stay.
Hope to see you again.
We had a wonderful girlie weekend break here in this lovely quirky cottage. Perfect location for walking to either Matlock or Matlock bath and ideal for visiting Chatsworth, Eyam or Hardwick Hall to name just a few. Tracey was marvellous, fantastic communication before and made us feel very welcome. We would highly recommend this lovely cosy cottage.
Doorway to national peak district, walking, climbing, cycling.
