I am a self-employed actress and teacher of yoga and Pilates and I've been very lucky to travel around the globe for work and the odd backpacking adventure. My favourite part of travelling is getting off the beaten track and discovering little gems that are not necessarily in the lonely planet! Love meeting new people from all walks of life. I live just across the road from the house I'm hosting, so will be on hand if guests have any questions or concerns.
Why Bethan chose Hammersmith
It is centrally located but within walking distance of the calming River Thames with lots of great pubs (some dating back almost a thousand years!). There are three supermarkets within a 2 minute walk, Fulham Football ground 15 mins walk away as well as the world famous River Cafe. Getting into town is easy, the West End and Covent Garden are just 15 minutes away by train (Barons Court station is incredibly well connected with two different tube lines, it is a 10 minute walk).

My sister and I stayed with our children (ages 11-12) for almost a week. It was very convenient to have two separate units, one upstairs and the other downstairs, each with a toilet and shower. The location is great and less than 5 minutes walk to either the grocery store or the bus station. We usually took a bus to the underground, but it’s only 10-15 minutes away by foot. The owner was very nice and communicative - we highly recommend this place!
Not as expected
On a positivé note the owner allowed us early entry to our rental as our flight arrived at 630am. It was a rather long walk though toting luggage to the flat . This area of Hammersmith is rundown as we found the flat. Stains on entry carpet , mildew in bathrooms , never able to get downstairs shower running. Our beds were not made prob due to early arrival but the fresh linens were still damp and left on the floor. We are staying again in Hammersmith at a much nicer place cleaner complete with shampoo soap fresh flowers on the table for the same price and closer to the underground. So bang for the buck was not evident at the first Hammersmith flat we stayed at in London. It’s over priced !
Basic , adequate for what we wanted a base for sightseeing and close to tube and river. Reccommend poppy 2 round corner very nice.
Only slight moan would be better ventilation in bathrooms and place needed bit of TLC .
Great price for a convenient London base for sightseers
The property consists of kitchen, downstairs bedroom with bath and upstairs bedrooms with bath. With a family of 6 we had 2 children on the sofa bed in the kitchen lounge. On some of the hottest days in London, the place stayed relatively cool with fans. Fridge, dishwasher, washing machine all worked well. Connections into London are really good - 10 or 15 minute walk to the Tube, or can take the buses within 2-3 minutes walk. Great place to show my American family my home town.
This is a small, but comfortable unit in a nice neighborhood. There is a lot of deferred maintenance, such as burnt out light bulbs, carpet repairs, and loose toilet seats. The boiler did not work properly, and it took two days for the owner to fix it. It took too much convincing for her to accept there was a problem.
This place will work fine for lots of people, but it's not for everyone.
Great location and space for London exploring. The house was clean and comfortable. Fun walking down to the Thames River and easy walks to the Tube stations. Great place for families especially with teenagers!! We would definitely stay here again.
