Exceeded every expectation!
Marion was a gracious and accommodating hostess. The house’s location overlooking the lake couldn’t have been better and was superbly equipped for all our needs. We absolutely enjoyed our stay and would return again in a heartbeat.
Thank you very much for your kind review. It was a pleasure to meet you all and I am delighted you enjoyed your stay.
I hope you enjoyed the rest of your holiday.
Regards and thank you.
Great secluded spot
This is an easy-to-find, quiet location on the River Shannon. Host was very attentive to ensuring we were OK through the hurricane that swept across Ireland in October. It was a good place to stay indoors and watch the white caps on the river from the living room window! A good base from which to explore many historic sites within an hour or less radius. Highlights were the Famine Museum in Strokestown (for those with Irish ancestors) and the genealogy center, and the ruins at Clonmacnoise. Would definitely recommend this location to other travelers.
Thank you so much for your kind words and visit to our holiday home on the
shores of Lough Ree, Athlone.
Delighted you enjoyed your stay despite the inclement weather conditions and
I am glad the storm was not quite as bad as forecast.
Maybe we will see you again when we have blue skies and sunshine.
