About the property

House, 5 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8)

Loganstones lies in 1-acre grounds and is a spacious, detached house offering plenty of room where families and friends can get together. The property has been decorated and furnished to a good standard; there are two living rooms, both with wood burners, making this a perfect location for year-round holidays, and a large kitchen/dining room, which is the perfect place to enjoy family meals. The house itself has views from the first floor over the Dartmoor countryside - what better way is there to start your day than by enjoying a cup of tea whilst viewing the local scenery? There are patio doors leading to a large enclosed garden on different levels, complete with a mini stone circle. There is no light pollution, and the night sky is very special from here. Many walks can be taken from the door, some of which lead into a most unspoilt and dramatic part of Devon, following the River Bovey or up onto the top of Lustleigh Cleave. Whether you are a family or a couple looking for a relaxing holiday in the Dartmoor National Park, then this is the perfect cottage for you. It is the ideal location for walking, cycling or just exploring Dartmoor and Devon. Located within Dartmoor National Park, Lustleigh is a ‘picture postcard’ village close to Lustleigh Cleave - a steep-sided, tree-covered valley, with the River Bovey running through it. There is a beautiful ridge above with views of Hound Tor and Haytor, and this is wonderful walking territory. The village has quaint thatched cottages, 15th-century church, a tea room and an idyllic, thatched country pub, all set around the village green. There are many places to visit close by including many National Trust properties; Dartmoor with its ponies; quaint villages and tors; Paignton with its zoo and sandy beach; Torquay, with Torre Abbey, the theatre, local shops and the marina where you can take a boat trip to Brixham; and Babbacombe with its cliff railway and shops. Go further afield and visit Go Ape just outside Exeter, or if you are bringing your bikes, then there are amazing cycle ways through Haldon Forest. Exeter also has a cathedral, and Crealy has lovely walks along the canal and various shops. If you are an Agatha Christie fan, you can visit her holiday home Greenway (National Trust). There are so many places to visit, or you can just relax in this peaceful location. Beach 12 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
