A large well equipped studio apartment on the first floor of a beautifully renovated period building in the heart of fashionable Kemptown. Just steps away from a wide choice of bars and restaurants, and only five minutes walk to the pier and the pavilion.

In addition to the double bed, there is a seating area, and a folding breakfast bar. The kitchen area includes a kettle, fridge, hob, dishwasher and microwave. Glasses, crockery and cutlery are provided. The en-suite bathroom features a "megaflow" shower. The bay window affords an oblique sea view. There is a flat screen television with freeview. A full sized wardrobe offers plenty of storage for clothing. Free WiFi throughout.

Good location

Small studio in good location. Fine for a short stay, although the room we were given is not the same one pictured on the HomeAway website (our was smaller, had no bay window, no sea-view and no freeview TV).

Owner's Response: Unfortunately we had had a maintenance problem in the original studio, so rather than cancel the booking we put our guests into another unit.Admittedly it is a little smaller than the original one, & does not have an oblique sea view, but it does have a garden view and is decorated and equipped to the same high standard as all the others. It definitely has Freeview TV though as do all our rooms. .

Wonderful apartment in the heart of Brighton.

The apartment was as described- great location and close to everything. it was wonderful for a weekend break with kitchenette and dining table in the studio. Being so central, it was also very quiet at night. Just a stone's throw from the beach and sea front was lovely.

Great studio apartment- just the ticket!

Husband and I visiting family in Brighton for 2 nights.

The apartment was spotless,very light, lots of wardrobe space, comfy bed, great shower, suprisingly quiet - no disturbed sleep. A veiw of the sea from the bay window. Would have been nice to have a second comfy chair in the bay window. Loveley to be able to make our cook anything more it would have to be a 'one -pot- wonder' which would be fine...but we went out in the evenings.

The apartment was a bit too warm at times ( we were there on a chilly June weekend)...we just opened the window.

Very handy for town, beach and all the bars/restaurants.

Great value for money.

Would totally recommend this place!

Terrible customer service, very noisy

The first problem was the owner forgetting to send me the access information to allow me to enter the room. I had received an email from the owner saying this would be sent to me before my arrival.

I emailed the owner the night before my arrival to remind her but had no reply. I therefore got to the property at 4pm with no way of entering!

I phoned "Owners Direct" website who gave me 2 phone numbers for the owner but the calls were not answered. It was extremely stressful for my partner and I as we concerned we would have nowhere to stay

I eventually received a call at around 6pm with the access information.

When I complained by email I received no apology, in fact the owner blamed me for the situation saying I should have emailed her earlier to reminded her to send the information to give her more time!

On the first night we were kept awake by a hen night staying above our room, they turned down the music after I knocked on the door to ask them but due to the structure of the building you can clearly here people walking in the room above. The owner advertises the room as "events welcome" so you may be sharing the building with a stag or hen night if you choose to stay.

On a positive note the property has a good location near the centre of Brighton but this does result in some noise from the street outside.

Owner's Response: We were sorry to hear that this guest was unhappy with his stay, and (in spite of his comments to the contrary) he appears to have forgotten that we did apologise profusely during the course of several phone calls with him and his wife. It is our policy not to accept bookings for hen or stag parties not only because of inconvenience to other guests, but also because of the increased likelihood of mess and damage, therefore Alex is mistaken in his assumption that we do . The manager did speak to the other guests that stayed during the same period and none were aware of any disturbance on the night in question As for the difficulty this guest says he experienced with access, perhaps ringing the doorbell would have a been a sensible first step? There is a resident manager on the premises to check guests in, with a key safe system for those guests who wish to arrive when the manager is absent. I understand Alex had several problems understanding the key safe as he locked both himself & the upstairs guests out of the property during the course of his stay. He informed me, prior to his writing this review that he was seeking compensation, however when he deemed my gesture of goodwill to be inadequate, he made it quite clear that he would post a negative review. I hope that anyone reading this will see that 99% of our reviews are positive, and as they say “ you cant please all of the people all of the time”!!!!
