Lovely Romantic Riverside Lodge for Two
Stephen & Liz
About Stephen & Liz
Your hosts, Stephen & Liz began providing holiday accommodation in Scotland in 1989, when they ran a small youth hostel for Backpackers. Then, after many years of working in Hospitality, they acquired their first log cabin in 2001. They now have four cabins and 'The Wee Ludging', all of which they have personally furnished and equipped to the high quality standard they are today. Stephen and Liz both appreciate how important it is for guests to feel welcome on their travels and to stay in warm, clean, comfortable accommodation, and have lots of information around to help in their enjoyment. If you need help, they live locally and have lots of tips on where is best to visit, where to dine etc. Over the years they have met many wonderful people and they enjoy taking many breaks themselves, when they can.
Stephen & Liz purchased this Cabin in 2013
Why Stephen & Liz chose Dunoon
Stephen & Liz were bowled over by the beauty of the natural landscape of the area and settled with their family in 2000. In 2013 they designed, built, decorated and furnished Bramble Lodge from scratch. They wanted to provide guests with an enjoyable stay in an 'Amazing Space' (in an amazing place) close to the river and surrounded by Nature. Apart from its neighbour, Hawthorn Lodge, there is no other like it in Scotland. It's perfect for two, perfect for romance and easy to get to. There is a sense of seclusion, yet the nearest town, Dunoon, is only 10 mins drive and the nearest city, Glasgow, is only 90 mins away. Stephen & Liz made this area their home, and they are pleased to be able to share a little part of it with you.
What makes this Cabin unique
Being 'local', Stephen and Liz are on hand if any help is required, and they are always happy to share information about the area, places to visit, things to see and do. Many have mentioned how good it is to receive personal recommendations. Unlike other lodges in the area Bramble Lodge is fully double glazed for added comfort and security, and the Rental INCLUDES Electricity, Bed Linen, Towels, Complimentary Toiletries, Wi-fi and Parking - there's no hidden costs.

Cosy and Quite Retreat
Nice chalet in a quiet location with easy access to Dunoon and the surrounding area. Chalet is compact but has everything 2 people need on a getaway.
Lovely little lodge!
This is such a cosy little get away for two. The outlook from the decking across the river is lovely, especially in the early morning, and evening. Inside, it's cute, cosy, clean and welcoming with a real Scottish feel to the decor. There is privacy if you want it. Ben More gardens is a 'must see' in our opinion, and its only a couple of miles up the road, there are other local walks, which look inviting too. We read some reviews about traffic noise, there certainly is a degree of traffic noise here during the day mainly, however, we didn't find it bothersome at all. All in all a lovely little piece of Scotland!
Quiet relaxing perfect
Very well set up and well maintained excellent value
Great location and excellent lodge. Had everything we needed
a beautiful cabin in stunning surroundings. The cabin was so clean and fresh you would be mistaken to think any one else had been before you. Very cosy and well equipped with anything you could need. Games and books were even provided for the wet days/nights.
We are very pleased you enjoyed your stay At Bramble. Hope to see you again soon. Stephen & Liz :)
Good base to see Cowal
I spent a few days here on my own for a few days R&R. The cabin is modern, well equipped, and everything was fresh and clean. The weather was lovely when I was there, and I was able to make good use of the terrace which overlooked the river. Although there were a few houses on the site, the two cabins aren't overlooked. The site is close to the main road, and there's a bit of road noise but it didn't bother me, and it was within easy driving distance of the local attractions. You could walk to Puck's Glen or Benmore Garden, which were both lovely.
I would day it's a great base for an outdoor holiday, but maybe a bit compact for a couple if you planned to stay indoors much.
Thank you for awarding us a 5 star rating. Your feedback is very useful and will be helpful for future guests too. Stephen & Liz :)
