Set in an area of outstanding natural beauty in the Duddon Valley, Riverside Cottage ticks every box - a rolling river nearby, majestic fells/mountains to all sides, a most traditional Cumbrian Cottage, with a fabulous log burner, many original features, and yet lovingly restored to a bespoke standard.
There's a local pub in walking distance. There's plenty of walks nearby, from gentle strolls to quite high intensity fell climbing. There are also many cycle routes and the area is a favourite with both cyclists and mountain bikers. There is a store room at the cottage for outdoors wear, boots and bikes. You’ll love Riverside for the ambiance, the outdoors space, the peace and tranquility of being close to nature, the space and time to relax. It's good for couples, singles, families, and also furry friends (pets).
The ground floor consists of a cosy lounge with a large ornate woodburner and original slate floor. The dining area has a contrasting wooden floor and leads through to the modern kitchen with stylish and understated decor. Every convenience for your comfort is provided here. The cottage has its own water bore hole and its own water treatment plant and is therefore very eco-friendly. All the appropriate eco friendly products which you will need in the kitchen are provided for you.
The stairs and upper floor has plush thick carpeting. Half way up the stairs you will find a small landing, and a window with a great view leading to the family size bathroom - a beautiful white bathroom suite with free standing pedestal bath. Further up the stairs leads you to the shower room and the two bedrooms. Choose for a luxurious king size bed or alternatively there is a twin bedded room with large single beds. These beds can also be fitted together if you would prefer a superking size bedroom., and there is a trundle bed which effectively makes the room into 3 singles - ideal for a family with younger children who can share.
The river rolling by can be heard from the kitchen and the bathroom, and of course the garden. Take a seat on the garden bench with a good book or a cup of tea and take time to sit and stare - there really is a fabulous panorama of natural beauty all around you. We think one visit won't be enough!
