Beautiful Apartment in Lyon!

Frank was a wonderful host and met us at the apartment as promised upon our arrival. He was great communicating with us prior to our stay. The apartment has plenty of space, ideal for two people. Wonderful location for those who want to experience Lyon in the community. Easy access to public transportation, walking distance to many great experiences. It is located on the Worker's Hill. We really enjoyed our stay but one thing to be aware of, the loft space is not really suitable for older kids or adults. It is a wonderful use of space but has a very low ceiling that is hard to access if you are tall. I am 5' 6" and it was very tight. Outside of that, it was a fantastic apartment to stay in and I would utilize it again!

A stylish and well facilitated apartment

A great location to access the festival of lights, restaurants and absorb the charm of Lyon. There are some unique shops and window galleries in the town displaying curious knitted sculptures and amazingly creative artefacts.

The apartment is brilliantly appointed as featured on the website and was a warm and comfortable resting stop after wandering around the astounding lighting display held over the weekend.

If planning a visit to coincide with the Festival, select the displays you wish to see in advance and venture down to town before 6pm. (Frank kindly provided advice and a map identifying features of the 2013 Festival)

If you get time take the stairway down the end of the hill for a bit of fun however, you might want to take the bus home unless you are a mountain climber.

The owner, Frank and partner were very friendly and informative.

Beyond expectations...

The street photos of the building were not that impressive but once inside the apartment, we were thoroughly impressed. High ceilings, lots of light and full updated with all the latest amenities. Our daughter loved the loft.

Great location in Croix Rousse with restaurants, shops and transit within a 5 minute walk. The market everyday (except Mondays) is a must see.

Just as we expected...!

My wife and I stayed at this apartment for 4 nights and enjoyed it very much. It was just as Frank has described it. The size, style, and location was great for us (and it would have worked if we had brought the two children as well).

It is easy walking distance to the metro which made access to all parts of Lyon simple. (I suggest you purchase the transportation and attractions card available from the tourism office. It made everything easy and could offer some savings as well.) It is also close to good places for breakfast. We enjoyed most of our meals in other areas of town, but we very much enjoyed one dinner at neighborhood restaurant that Frank recommended close to the apartment.

We did not cook, but the kitchen and appliances are modern and well-designed and I'm sure would have served us well if we had needed them.

The bathroom and powder room are well-designed and nicely equipped. Ample hot water and a towel warmer made the morning routine great!

Frank was very nice, helpful, and accommodating. Thanks Frank!

Week in Lyon - June 2012

We had a great time in Lyon in Frank's apartment. I travelled with two friends from the U.S. to Lyon and we stayed in Frank's apartment for 4 nights. Frank was very nice during our email conversations to set up the stay, and then very flexible on our arrival and departure times. The apartment is HUGE, with plenty of space for guests. The loft space upstairs isn't for anything but sleeping (the ceiling height is just too short), but we had plenty of comfortable beds for sleeping and the downstairs is so big that no one was cramped for space. The apartment is beautifully furnished, new furtniture, very modern and comfortable. The kitchen was well-stocked with glassware, plates, etc.

We enjoyed being on the first floor (no flights of stairs with luggage!) and we enjoyed having the windows open in the mornings and evenings. The weather was warm, so the apartment was a little stuffy and warm at night when the windows were closed. If Frank were to invest in anything to upgrade the apartment, it would be a fan or a small portable a/c. (2 of our 3 have group members have lived in Europe, so we understand European air conditioning is not the same as in America). No washer/dryer, but there were places to do your laundry just a couple of blocks away in this great, locals-only neighborhood. Great location to experience true Lyon, with good restaurants and bars all within walking distance (we liked the organic/gluten-free "Le Jardin Intérieur"). Also, because the place is so large, we were able to wash clothes and set up the drying rack in the kitchen with room to spare. The wifi and television were nice touches. Thank you Frank for a great place to stay in Lyon!

Wonderful stay in stylish appartment

This is an absolute gem of an appartment in Lyon. Well equipped, lovingly restored and with everything you would need for a stay in beautiful Lyon. The owner is extremely helpful. Spotlessly clean and lovingly restored, ideal for families or couples staying the city. Highly recommend.

the apartment is located in the heart of the red cross plateau in a very nice neighborhood with many outdoor cafes and restaurants

it is close to shops, the market square and the red Cross underground stations and various buses to travel to Lyon

you can also walk to 15 mm in the center of Lyon (Town Hall) and pass through the 'traboules' The traboules are passageways through courses of buildings that can get from one street to other.
