About the property

Rural property which has good roads for cyclists, great countryside for walkers.

This beautiful cortijo is located in a very pretty valley a 5 minutes drive from Lubrin town. It has been totally renovated and rebuilt and has taken the owners almost 3 years to do so. There are 4 double bedrooms in the main house and a separate annex with bar / games area and double bedroom. In the annex is also a mezzanine area for children and a shower room. The games room has a bar, pool table , football table, dart board and lots more. The property is walled and gated and makes up part of a much larger plot of 18,000meters, ideal walking countryside, or for playing boule on the properties own boule piste . The outside area includes a private courtyard area for relaxing and a covered dining area and chill out seating area with a Bar B Q . The pool has a large terrace for sunbathing and beautiful views over the surrounding countryside. To the front of the house is a garden with trees and shrubs and gate to the parking area. Here there is parking for at least 3 or 4 cars.

You enter the property into the large dining room with feature hanging chandelier lights, a long dining table and original tiled flooring. This leads to a country style kitchen with a range oven , double sink and views over the pool area . Double doors take you outside to the covered dining area and chill out space. There is a wide archway between the living room and the dining room which has seating for at least 10 people.

Next to the dining room is a “snug” with two arm chairs, a log burner and lots of books, a great little room to escape to. A corridor takes you to the other end of the house and a large double bedroom with doors leading onto the pretty courtyard. There is a shower room opposite the bedroom and a utility room with desk , washing machine and extra fridge / freezer. The door here leads to the outside courtyard and seating area which is totally private with antique double doors leading back to the parking area.

Back inside the property stairs lead from the snug to the upstairs area, here you have three double bedrooms. Two bedrooms share the family bathroom with roll top bath and separate walk in shower and the other has an ensuite shower room and private terrace overlooking the pool area. Two of the upstairs bedrooms have double doors to a private terrace. A corridor leads you outside to a “ drying room” traditionally used for drying hams, this is a room with a roof and open arches , it has a fabulous breeze when it’s hot in the summer months.. Here you have games for children and books . This is a lovely cool area to relax in the hot summer months.

This beautiful spacious house has original , handmade tiles throughout , wooden beams and handmade wooden doors. There is plenty of room for a large family or group of friends and the private pool, outside covered dining area and chill out seating area and perfect for large gatherings. On the other side of the property the large private courtyard with seating is a quiet pace to sit and read or sunbathe. The property is suitable for those who want a holiday rental away from the crowds, this is a quiet countryside location a five minute drive ( 20 minute walk) to the lovely town of Lubrin with its fabulous tapas bars , shops and other amenities. The nearest beaches are Mojacar and Vera playa, approximately 40 minutes drive from the property.

The property has wood burning stoves in the main house and a pellet burner in the annex so is also ideal for a winter break.

There is "Free Wifi " throughout the property , docking stations for music plus British TV .

  • We have tried to make sure that there are ample facilities in the way of bathrooms in the property and have made sure that if the bathroom is not en suite it is very close to the bedroom that uses it. All shower rooms and bathrooms have original tiles, towel rails, storage and large walk in showers.There is a spacious bathroom in the main house decorated with handmade floor tiles , plenty of storage and a beamed ceiling. This has a large walk in shower with power shower and roll top bath. There are a further two shower rooms in the main house with large walk in showers, one is on the ground floor . In the annex there is the second shower room with large walk in shower and toilet. Outside next to the pool is a cloakroom with toilet and sink, here near the pool is also an outside shower very handy for the summer months.

  • There are several choices of master bedroom. The largest bedroom is on the ground floor with easy access and a shower room opposite. This room has double doors to the courtyard garden. The other three bedrooms within the house are upstairs. The other possible master bedroom is ensuite and has double doors to its own private terrace with views over the pool area and the land. The other two upstairs bedrooms share a large bathroom with roll top bath. One of these rooms has double doors to a large terrace. The upstairs bedrooms have easy access to the large "drying room" a lovely cool place to relax in the height of the summer, this room has a solid roof but open arches surrounding it, originally used for drying the hams. A fifth bedroom is in the annex, it is ground floor with double doors to the courtyard. It has access to a shower room, the games room and the Bar. There is a mezzanine here also with wooden steps, this is popular with children so the property can infact easily sleep 12

This is a rustic property in a country location but it is easily within reach of very good local restaurants. There are good markets and the coast is a 40 minute drive. If guests would like a yoga experience or massage this can be arranged in advance. This house lends itself to large groups of friends or large families. Locally there is horse riding , the coast has all sorts of water sports and there are Caves to explore in Sorbas. In addition for kids there is an Aqua Park & Go Karting not . Almeria City also boasts great attractions, Arabic baths & fabulous tapas bars in the old town. The famous Mini Hollywood is situated 35 minutes away in Tabernas, a great day out for a family. You can walk into the village of Lubrin to the tapas bars about a 20 minute walk & there are other great walks in the area directly from the front door. Alternatively, you buy in your food and beverages and stay at the property, chilling out , swimming and reading with the fabulous views and peace & quiet.

Beautiful Boutique Style Villa

We booked for a break for New Year's Eve and wanted something special - we were not disappointed. The villa is spotless and is furnished to a high standard. The bedrooms are large with contemporary fitted bathrooms. The kitchen is well equipped and plenty of space to chill out.

The outside area was as equally inviting with different terraces and patios including a boule area and the amazing pool. The highlight for the children was the games room and at night it was a great option fir the adults too. The local town is 5 mins by car and has lovely shops, restaurants and tapas bars. We even went to the olive press and sampled fresh olive oil.

The property is ideal as Spanish retreatSpanish from it all and great for walking, cycling and generally soaking up the Spanish rural life. We would highly recommend it and we will be going back in the Summer.
