Good Property but watch out for the mice and the flies.

  • 3 of 5

This is a great property but it is very rustic and, as a result, has a rodent and insect problem. The place is overrun with mice which are mainly visible in the kitchens. The kitchens are very small and both are fly-blown. It makes it very difficult to cook in the kitchens. As a result, we tended to eat out more which does take away from the purpose for renting a house this size. If you are going to stay at this property, you need it have it cleaned every day or every two days. I would try and negotiate that as part of the rental. The property is also not ideally situated as it is a good 30-40 minutes north of Dijon. There is little nearby worth seeing so you tend to send a lot of time in the car. Other than that, the bedrooms and sleeping facilities are good and it does house a large number of people. However, I would not consider renting it again.

Our dream family vacation!

  • 5 of 5

Brigitte is the most gracious host you will ever meet.

We had our family reunion in her Chateau for Christmas. We were a group of Australians and there were 10 adults and 7 children.

Brigitte went out of her way to make us feel at home. We arrived at Dijon train station and she was there to meet us at the car rental place to help with luggage and show us the way to the Chateau.

We chose for such a large group to pay the extra for a cook and cleaner for our 2 week stay. This was the best decision we made. We had the most amazing meals served to us every night and even better was that we didn't have to clean up. We would finish our 3 course meal and the adjourn with our glass of wine to the lounge and open fire place.

Although Brigitte can not speak English she always had an interpreter available when needed.

I can not recommend this chateau highly enough to you, you will not regret it!

Owner's Response: Dear Hardgraves family, We were delighted to welcome you to La Tour de Labergement for the Christmas/New Year holidays of 2014. I hope you have happy memories of your stay here. I really appreciated your Australian warmth and kindness. Despite the language barrier, we were able to communicate and share some truly lovely moments. Thank you so much. Brigitte

comme dans un conte de fée

  • 5 of 5

Great castle for family holidays

  • 5 of 5

Lots on site for the children:

- huge garden with playground and pool

- a living room for children with games, comics and DVDs

- colourful plastic dining sets

Very elegant decor unencombered of personal items - everything is well thought out for guest comfort.

The region is beautiful: many vallies with pictoresque villages and towns. There is a lot to visit: Alésia, Fontenay, Beaune, ...

We were a group of 12 and had a fantastic time - the children are going to go on about it for ages!

Séjour de rêve !

  • 5 of 5
