About the property

This is one of two recently refurbished modern and luxurious Apartments with spacious open plan Living area with convertible double sofa-bed suitable for children or small adults. Luxury fully fitted Kitchen with french door leading to private decking area overlooking the garden where you can relax over breakfast or watch the sunset with a glass of wine . Off the living area is a good sized bedroom which can be configured as a twin beds or super-king double. There is more than adequate wardrobe and drawers and there is a luxurious en-suite shower room. All fresh towels and bed linen is supplied together with shampoo, shower gel etc. The living area contains a sofa bed ideal for children or two small adults. The kitchen is fully equipped with oven and hob unit, Fridge/Freezer, Washing Machine, Microwave Oven, Coffee Machine etc. There is flat screen TV and DVD in each room. There are two dryers in the house for the use of guests. There is also a large communal Sitting Room where guests can relax and watch 3D movies or play the Keyboard or a selection of guitars if they so wish. Free WiFi

The Apartments both have full central heating and are suitable for both summer and winter occupation. Each apartment has it's own private entrance. The Annex is attached to the owners house and Leslie is happy to impart his local knowledge and advise on the best places to visit and local restaurants etc.

About The Owner

I am 72 years of age and after a varied career in Legal / Banking and among other things, owning and running a Photography and Design Studio, Upholstery Factory and Catering Establishments I am now using all my life experiences running The Annex Apartments in Nairn. Most of my guests come from abroad and in the last year I have played host to people from USA, Canada, Singapore, Finland, Germany, France, Spain, Australia and Slovakia. I treat my guests as I would like to be treated myself. I like to think of my guests as my friends and go that extra mile to make them welcome and make their stay with me memorable. I am a native Scot born in Aberdeen and have travelled to most parts of the country. I use my local knowledge to prepare and plan itinerary's and routes for my guests so they get the maximum benefit of the spectacular scenery that Scotland has to offer and judging from the reviews I get, I think the guests appreciate this. I also get a lot of satisfaction knowing that I have made my guests happy.

Why The Owner chose Nairn

The Annex at Nairn is ideally situated as a base to explore The Scottish Highlands. Within a 40 minute drive is Loch Ness, Aviemore and the ski resorts, Speyside and The Distillery Trail, The Grampian Mountains and National Park. Glencoe, Fort William, The Isle of Skye are all a day trip away, as are all the main places of interest on "Route 500" which is Scotlands equivalent of "Route 66" I have explored and prepared detailed routes of all the best places to visit within one days drive of Nairn, which saves you the trouble and effort.

What makes this apartment unique

The Annex at Nairn can be anything you want it to be. If you want peace and quiet and a place to relax, it is that. If you want it to be a base to reach out and explore the surrounding countryside, it is that. Most of my guests tend to do both. After a couple of days driving the highland roads for 8 hours, they are glad to just relax and chill out sitting on the deck and enjoying the peace and quiet of the garden, or walking along the beach. The Beaches at Nairn are one of Scotlands secret treasures. Most people are taken aback when they first see them. This is one of the reasons that Charlie Chaplin used to visit Nairn regularly on holiday. We also have another famous resident, Tilda Swinton, the Hollywood actress lives here with her family.

Excellent apartment in great location

I stayed here for 3 days during a motorbike tour of Scotland. This property is really well located for a visit to the Moray Firth area. The apartment is a good size and well-equipped and provides everything you need for a comfortable stay.

Leslie provides a warm welcome and is an excellent host. When I arrived the fridge was already stocked with loads of provisions which was a nice surprise. He even provided me with a guitar to play for the duration of my stay.

I would recommend this property to anyone thinking of visiting the area and I hope I will be able to return in the future.

Owner's Response: Simon was a model guest, friendly and easy to talk to. He kept the apartment clean and tidy and he must make a return visit as he did not manage to make the trip to Applecross, which is a must for all Bikers who visit this area.

Excellent accomodation in Nairn - true Highland hospitality

I would definitely stay here again - this was a five star experience. The property was clean, bright, modern and well furnished. The towels were fluffy, the bed was comfy, the fridge was well stocked with sausage, bacon, eggs, yogurt, butter and milk and there was fresh fruit in the fruit bowl, bread in the bread bin and tea bags and ground coffee in the appropriate containers. Lots of traditional Scottish foods in the cupboard like marmalade and oatcakes for breakfast and even a ready meal of haggis, neeps and tatties in the fridge! There was clothes washing powder for the washing machine, an ironing board and iron and a hairdryer. There's a charming deck off the living area with views onto the large garden. The location was ideal - 5 minutes walk to the beach or 5 minutes into the High Street or the railway station - but on a quiet residential street. Leslie was most hospitable - he picked me up from the station and drove me to the airport to pick up a car - and could not have been more helpful in showing me around and recommending place to eat and visit. Nairn has a wonderful, long sandy beach, lots of great walks and many wonderful eateries - don't miss the Cawdor Tavern just outside Nairn for a true Scottish pub experience with great food or the Sand Dancer Cafe on the beach where you can sit upstairs in the afternoon and have a cup of tea and watch the waves. I had never stayed in Nairn before but it is a great location for getting into Inverness, across the moors to Aviemore or a train to Aberdeen. Highly recommended.

Great location in Nairn

We stayed in this apartment for four days and enjoyed it very much. It is equipped with everything you need. Leslie is the nicest host you could think of. It was more like staying at a friends house than in a vacation home. Thank you Leslie, for welcoming us like we were part of your family.

Alles wunderbar und bestens

Wir haben uns in der Wohnung sehr wohl gefühlt und den Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Leslie ist ein hervorragender Gastgeber und hatte vorab gut für unser leibliches Wohl gesorgt ,indem der Kühschrank schon gefüllt war. Wir haben gute Reisetipps bekommen und können die Unterkunft bedingungslos weiter empfehlen !

Excellent séjour, je le conseille !

Location très propre, au calme, moderne avec tout le confort! Le propriétaire se met en 4 pour ses locataires:

- frigo rempli avec saucisses, jambon, oeufs, produits laitiers...

- fruits frais, épices,

- draps de bain changés tous les jours

- excellents conseils pour les choses à voir, plans et parcours fournis et traduits en plusieurs langues.

Notre petite famille a passé un très bon séjour et c'est avec plaisir que nous y retournerons si l'occasion se présente.

Nous le conseillons vivement.

Einfach perfekt. Sehr zu empfehlen

Leslie ist der perfekte Gastgeber. Die Wohnung ist sehr schön und auch sehr sauber. Der Kühlschrank war gefüllt mit Eiern und Speck und vielem anderen mehr. Danke noch mal Leslie. Der Strand ist zu Fuß zu erreichen. Es gibt nette Restaurants und für Ausflüge in die Highlands ist die Wohnung auch perfekt.

The Annex Apartments are located in a quiet road close to the centre of Nairn town within easy walking distance of the shops, museum, two Golf Courses and the beautiful Beaches with miles of white sand and views across The Moray Firth to the Black Isle. Favourite activities are Dolphin Spotting and "Nessie" Spotting as Nairn is only a 40min drive from Loch Ness.
