A wonderful cottage in a brilliant location with beautiful secluded beaches in easy walking distance. We had a fantastic time - thank you!
A beautiful family cottage which we enjoyed on our trip to Devon.
Alice cottage had everything we needed to enjoy our holiday for a week. The owners have made sure you are well equipped and provided for during your stay.
The scones and clotted cream on arrival was a nice touch to welcome you to Devon. All rooms were clean, especially the bathrooms- which is a big tick for us! Our two children had a great week. It is child friendly and they loved it.
My only thing I would say is that if you are taking young children, aged below 3 like we did, is that the location is very isolated and the garden isn't suitable. It is a wild garden on a slope, which we fully appreciate but the kids could not go outside unsupervised.
However, a wonderful stay and lovely cottage. Thankyou
lovely stay in lovely cottage
We, a family of 4 with two young boys, nejoyed our stay at Alice cottage. We were very lucky with the weather, so every other day we made the easy stroll to Blackpool Sands. The other days we visited beaches or places in the neighbourhood. The cottage itself is very charming but also very convenient.
Perfect Hideaway in Devon
This was our first holiday in Devon and we were not disappointed. The cottage was just as described. We loved the wild garden and the cottage. The walk to the beach was perfect exercise and only took 15 minutes and the country lane down to the beach was a lovely walk in itself.
The beach claims to be one of the best in Devon and rightly so as it was very clean and had a cafe, shop and toilets. We will certainly be using this cottage again in future years as I don't think we would find anything better.
We had a very pleasant stay at Alice Cottage. Perfect location, 10 minutes walk to the beach and about 30 minutes walk to our favourite pub The Green Dragon (they make the best salted caramel cheesecake in the world!). The cottage is in a quiet area, equipped with everything you need, very well maintained and has a fabulous garden. Shops and supermarkets are about 10 minutes drive, in Dartmouth, a beautiful town where you find everything you need. We took our bikes with us and conquered a few hills! (if you are into cycling this is a great place to ride).
We would stay there again. Recommended.
Surpassed all expectations
Gorgeous cottage with lovely garden, located a short walk from a blue flag beach - what more could you ask for?!
We absolutely loved staying there and will def be booking to stay in future.
Alice Cottage is situated in South Devon in the picturesque South Hams in a valley, a 10 minute drive from Dartmouth with one of the finest natural harbours in England, and a short walk from Blackpool Sands beach and its amenities overlooking which you will find views rivalling those of the French Riviera. Nearby attractions include Dartmouth Castle, Britannia Royal Naval Collage, Greenway, former home of Agatha Christie with gardens overlooking the River Dart and Coleton Fishacre, a National Trust house and garden. For children we recommend Woodlands, a family theme park and the Paignton & Dartmouth Steam Railway. Dartmouth hosts a music festival in early May and a food festival, in October. Its famous regatta is held at the end of August. The town has a cinema and theatre, craft shops, cafes and boutiques, including the Harbour Bookshop, once owned by Christopher Robin. Slapton Sands, with its D-Day connections and nature reserve, ideal for bird watching lies to the west.
Blackpool Sands beach is consistently ranked one of the UK's top beaches with an excellent café, shop and water sports equipment for hire.
