We enjoyed our stay in London! Mo was so accommodating and responsive to any questions or concerns. The apartment is spacious and has a lovely terrace overlooking the park. Easy walking distance to Oxford Street and tube stations. I would highly recommend this property.
Thank you for your stay we always aim to please our guests.
Hope to welcome you again soon and will give you special offer next time.
This was a truly miserable experience because the flat was encased in plastic and scaffolding.
We booked this flat in February 2017 because it had a terrace and was described as having a view of Hyde Park and the photos on the VRBO/HomeAway website page showed the terrace and the view from the terrace. We arrived to find the building encased in plastic and scaffolding. There was no view at all (except of scaffolding and plastic), the terrace was closed and a sign was posted on the scaffolding adjacent to the terrace stating “Danger, keep away from scaffoldings.” The flat was hot and dark because the building was encased in plastic, and for at least one of the days we were there, workmen were present on the scaffolding outside the terrace.
We notified the owner of our disappointment the night we arrived and also emailed her a photograph of the terrace, plastic and scaffolding. Her suggestion was to have someone come over and cut the plastic, which we were not comfortable with given the sign on the terrace stating "Danger, keep away from scaffoldings," and which would have still left us with a closed terrace and a view of scaffolding. She admitted the scaffolding and plastic had been up for several weeks, yet she never told us about the condition of the flat and she refused to compensate us for our miserable experience. She apparently felt that paying the full amount of the rental for a view flat (that had no view), that was in this condition, was reasonable. She also admitted changing the description on the VRBO/HomeAway website after we had arrived, to remove the "Hyde Park view" description. Her only offer was a free night’s rental in the future at the same flat, which we would never rent again given the way the owner handled this experience.
We have stayed at many VRBO/HomeAway rentals and have had only good experiences until this one. I hope to never repeat something like this.
Had a wonderful time!
We really enjoyed our stay at Justina's apartment! It is a very spacious place with a wonderful view overlooking Hyde Park! We loved being so close to the park and being in a very central location to all of the sights and attractions of London. We liked the master bedroom with a recently renovated jet tub and shower. My father-in-law liked being able to sit on the balcony and watch the royal guard ride by in the morning. The place was exactly as described in the posting and was very clean and well stocked with towels and linens. Mo was very helpful and responsive to all of our questions. I would definitely recommend this apartment to friends and family if staying in London!
Fabulous Location, 2 Bathrooms at a Reasonable Price - Great for Runners!
Our family of five (three teenage daughters) stayed five nights at this unit. We are all serious runners and chose the location because of its proximity to Hyde Park. The running in Hyde Park was fabulous. The price of the unit was reasonable and the owner (Justina) and Mo were both very responsive and easy to deal with. The financial dealings were straight forward, which is nice when dealing in a foreign currency (we had a difficult management company in our Paris vrbo and it made me appreciate Justina). The two bathrooms, two bedrooms and the balcony are all bonuses, although the balcony is overrun. We agree with the earlier reviews that the unit could use some TLC, cleaning, and some simple utensils. The elevator was great. We would stay at this unit again in a heartbeat. You are not going to find a better value in all of London.
Well located, well intentioned, but badly misses the mark
The apartment is just across Bayswater and Hyde Park, so the location is good.
The owner has been pleasant to deal with.
The place itself is chock full of someone's old clothing and discarded electro domestics, so no closet space at all. The kitchen is small but the problem is there are few utensils and cooking items so no need to worry about the smallish space; besides, there are not 3 matching sets of glasses, plates, cups or saucers and no serving platters. One (dull) knife... The freezer was totally frozen; couldn't put a single ice cube in there - desperately needs a defrosting. Washer/dryer old but functioning. Beds were comfortable; towels few and scratchy.
The place, with a thorough cleaning, removal of old clothing and a kitchen with proper utensils and plates, would be a nice place. Perhaps the owner will take note...
Nice Flat in Residential Area
Nice, spacious flat in residential building / area. Flat over looks Hyde Park ( great view) and is about a ten minute walk to the Marble Arch area where you can catch the Tube and Hop On- Hop Off Tour buses. Small Tesco market not far from Marble Arch area to pick up groceries. FYI, the Lancaster Gate station is closed for repairs till approximately July, 2017. Easy to get cabs in front of building or for Uber to pick up.
Flat could use a little TLC but for the most part in very good shape. Master bath is very nice and shower in tub works great, but could use enclosure so you can stand and take a shower. 2nd bathroom much smaller and we had trouble with shower pressure and hot water in that one. Beds were comfortable and we utilized the couches. The one we folded out, the mattress was good. We could not close one of the blinds in the living room so it did make it a little bright in their with the earlier summer sunrises.
Weather during our visit was good, but for summer months, I am not sure how the AC works, so I would suggest confirming.
Small bathroom has both a washer and dryer that works good. I would confirm with Mo how the washer works. Took me 2 hours for a load, but might have been doing wrong or that could be the norm for there.
Justina was great with responding to any questions we had.
