Perfect, would come back in a heartbeat
Larry was an incredible host, and the property is perfect. It is a great space for two and is a stone's throw from downtown Sonoma (shops, restaurants, etc.) The place was very clean, and it is clear that Larry is seasoned in being a great host. We had everything we needed, and I look forward to coming back here to stay again.
Winter Getaway in Sonoma
Cozy rustic property with all the amenities we desired - kitchen with coffee maker, refrigerator, microwave, oven/stove; separate living room space, office, and bedroom. Full laundry was great. We did not take advantage of the porch area - too cold and rainy, but would be perfect for spring or summer. We had plenty of space to spread out to finish preparing holiday gifts. No frills cottage, nicely decorated with original art by the owner. The location is very close to the plaza. We enjoyed learning about Mr. Murphy's personal service as a pilot and long-term connection to Sonoma as owner of Murphy's Irish Pub on the plaza.
Lovely Get Away
The location couldn't have been any better! My husband and I stayed at Kate Murphy's cottage for a long anniversary weekend get-away to Sonoma. Larry immediately greeted us upon arrival to make sure we had everything we needed. We had a nice covered place to park our car and didn't even need to use the car for the first couple of days. We were able to walk and ride bikes everywhere we wanted to go. The bed was extremely comfortable, the kitchen well appropriated. We walked to Whole Foods to get breakfast supplies and anything else we needed.
We will definitely return to Kate Murphy's Cottage on our next trip to Sonoma.
Cozy cottage in great location
We had the most wonderful time at Kate Murphy’s Cottage. Not only is it utterly charming and wonderfully located, but Larry is the most congenial host we have ever stayed with. His art is throughout the cottage and is wonderful. We have family in Sonoma and have now found the perfect home away from home when we come to visit them.
We are located in the heart of the California Wine Country, there are dozens of wineries within minutes of the cottage. However Sonoma has many other charms, many places of importance in early California history, such as the northernmost of California's famous Spanish missions, St. Francis Solano Mission on the Plaza, only three blocks from the cottage. Our restaurants are many, varied and close by, indeed many visitors don't get into their cars for days at a time.
