Time stands still in this cosy cottage with wood burner and low beams

Little Thatch is quintessentially the English ‘chocolate box’ thatched country cottage with roses around the door and even with ducks in the stream outside! A listed Grade 2 property dated 1650 with inglenook fireplace and a log burner, low ceilings and oak beams. Set in the quiet conservation village of Lillingstone Lovell with only the church bells to disturb the peace. One double bedroom with a vaulted ceiling, a cosy sitting room, well equipped country kitchen with a stable door, bathroom with bath and shower. The cottage is equipped to the highest standards for two with all mod cons, Sky TV and wifi. There is off road parking in the beautiful cottage garden. On the border of North Bucks and Northamptonshire, close to Oxford and the Cotswolds , an easy journey to London. It is the perfect place to unwind from the hurly burly of life or for that special romantic break. Prices from £320 per week or short breaks from £240. Be assured of a warm welcome with a Welcome Basket and a bottle of wine whenever you come. You won’t be disappointed!

About Jane Scott

Jane and Ian came to live at Little Thatch twenty years ago and painstakingly renovated the property employing their joint skills as an artist and a carpenter. Then a few years later they moved into the adjoining cottage and renovated that one too, along with creating a beautiful cottage garden than is open to the public one weekend a year and was selected to be in the prestigious NGS Yellow Book.

They have a studio in the garden where they have a small picture framing business where they do bespoke framing, conservation and restoration of oil paintings and frames.

They share their home with a dog and a cat who enjoy the attention of the holidaymakers next door and are always happy to go for a long walk!

A wonderful rural location in a beautiful village with just thirty houses, look out of the window to see cattle in the field and views to the village church. Yet, five miles away are country towns for all your needs or venture on the train or motorway and you are in London or Heathrow in not much more than an hour

A beautiful place will definately return

A quaint thatch in a lovely part of the country ,I hadn t been self catering before so took everything , didn t need it from hairdryer to kitchen foil everything was there even down to a posy of flowers .we met the owners who were as lovely as the cottage .

So many places to see in the area and evenings in snuggled by the log burner .

Less than an hour by train from London, equidistant to both the M1 and M40 and only 60 miles from Heathrow, it is ideally situated for visitors from UK or abroad.

Close to the Cotswolds and on the border of North Bucks and Northamptonshire and only a few miles from Oxfordshire it is in the heart of the Shires with beautiful rolling countryside, pretty villages with country pubs, Many National Trust properties and Stowe close by. Lonly area for walking with ancient forests full of bluebells a few miles away or tow path walks along the Grand Union canal.

Silverstone race track is very close as is Towcester for horse and greyhound racing.

The next village of Whittlebury has a championship golf course or a spa for a bit of pampering.

If you want a bit of serious shopping then Bicester Outlet Village and Milton Keynes are near by.

Something for everyone and the owner lives next door and will give you lots of ideas.
