The Villa sits in an elevated location on the edge of the village of Palaja overlooking the Alaric mountains. Palaja is a quiet village with a centre providing daily essentials.
Carcassonne, a Unesco Heritage Site is a 10 minutes drive away and the Canal du Midi runs through Carcassonne.
The Mediterranean coast is an hour's drive from Carcassonne where you can choose from a number of beautiful beach resorts.
Local attractions include the Lac de la Cavayere which is a 20 minute walk from the Villa. This is a large lake with various activities and ideal for walking, cycling and boating. As well as the well known Le Cite, other local attractions include Le Parc Australien, the Abbey of St. Hilaire and Chateau de Lastours.
The Villa has two French doors from the Lounge/Diner which lead to the south facing large balcony which has great views of the country side and the Alaric mountain range. The Villa has a 10m by 5m secluded swimming pool which is a few steps from the balcony and is south east facing benefitting from the full morning and afternoon sun. The wrap-around garden, approximately 1500 square metres, has a number of olive trees, fruit trees, and Shrubs.
The kitchen has recently been refurbished. There is a four-ring gas hob and an electric fan oven below. The kitchen is well equipped with all the essentials. There is a washing machine in the garage but no dishwasher.
Both bedrooms have double beds with bedside cupboards as well as a good size wardrobe. There is a cot in one of the bedrooms.
The bathroom has a full size bath with shower above and a shower screen. There is a wash-basin with a mirror above , a shaver point and a heated towel rail. There is a WC in the bathroom as well as a separate WC.
The south facing Lounge/Diner is spacious with two French doors that lead out to a large south facing balcony. There is a television which receives the usual British freeview satellite channels.
