About the property

The building.

The property is in the neighborhood of EL GUINCHO in Garachico, northwest of Tenerife (area called Isla Baja).

The house is divided into 2 independent dwellings that do not share common spaces but could be rented together if necessary and host up to 8 people from the same family.

It is a picturesque house more than 100 years old. In the reform completed in 2016 we have respected the original architecture especially on the ground floor of the house. The upper floor is accessed through an outdoor patio where the kitchen, living room, and terrace, in that space have taken advantage of the magnificent views with large windows that let in plenty of light even in winter.

Being close to the sea, it is an area of ​​moderate and stable temperatures throughout the year.


Although the house is located in a rural environment and surrounded by bananas, you will only have 5 minutes by car the cores of Garachico and Icod de los Vinos.

Garachico with its important history has some beautiful streets and squares in which to stroll and some magnificent restaurants in which to enjoy the local cuisine facing the sea. In some parts of the island young chefs are emerging with a great future and Garachico is one of those places.

And the town of Icod de los Vinos, with a thriving trade in which you will find everything you need and tourist attractions such as its historic center and the Millenary Drago.

Enjoy bathing in the sea:

A 10 minute walk from the house is another of the great attractions of the El Guincho neighborhood, apart from the landscape, its secluded bay (Playa de Nuestra Senora de la Consolación) with a small callao beach, solarium and a small jetty. Every summer, hundreds of bathers come to this corner of the northern coast to enjoy its crystal clear waters, although its access needs a reform.

In the Caletón in Garachico or in small black sand beaches like San Marcos in Icod, Buenavista, or Punta de Teno.

Also in the different "puddles" of the area such as the Charco del Viento in La Guancha, or in the beautiful Charco de la Laja in San Juan de la Rambla.

Enjoy the local cuisine in which fish, potatoes with mojo, and wine have special relevance.

Access and Transportation:

Access to the property is simple by perfectly paved and signposted roads. From the main road (TF 5) it only takes 2 minutes to the door of the house.

Any of the 2 airports in Tenerife comes well as a point of arrival.

It takes 45 minutes from TF Norte and 75 minutes from TF Sur.

Buses: It is possible to move around the island with the different public buses that pass through the area, lines 363 and 107, but in my opinion it is advisable to rent a car because of the flexibility it provides.

Die Lage, vor allem die schöne Terrasse und die geschmackvolle Einrichtung, alles hat gepasst. Netter Vermieter und Dolores, die sich um das Haus kümmert, ist auch sehr sympatisch und locker.

Sehr schöne Ferienwohnung mit tollen Ausblick von der Terrasse

Komplett ausgestattete Wohnung. Zwei Nachteile - Parkmöglichkeiten sehr schwierig und von Parterre zum 1. Stock muss man eine Treppe benutzen, die im Freien und nicht überdacht ist.

Bei Regen ist dies sehr unschön.

Eine wirklich gute Ferienwohnung

Die Wohnung liegt, schön gelegen, in einer ruhigen Umgebung.

Sie verfügt über eine Vollausstattung und ist liebevoll eingerichtet.

Für uns war sie das perfekte Urlaubsdomizil.

Ich möchte hier auch gerne den unkomplizierten und sehr freundlichen Kontakt mit den Vermietern und der Haushälterin erwähnen. Das ist beileibe nicht selbstverständlich.

Die Wohnung kann von uns nur empfohlen werden.

Wir würden sie jederzeit wieder in Anspruch nehmen.

Perfektes Zuhause im Urlaub

Das liebevoll eingerichtete Ferienhaus, Parkmöglichkeit für einen PKW vor dem Haus, bot alles was wir uns wünschten. Sehr bequeme Betten, reichlich Platz in den Schränken, großzügiges Bad; Dusche mit ordentlichem Wasserdruck und ausreichend Bewegungsfreiheit. Die im ersten Stock gelegene Küche und das Wohnzimmer sind über eine Außentreppe zugänglich. Die Küche ist mit allem Nötigen ausgestattet z.B. einer Geschirrspülmaschine, Microwellen, Herd mit Backofen, große Kühl-Gefrier Kombi (Waschmaschine in einem separaten Wirtschaftsraum im Erdgeschoss). Im Wohnzimmer ein großer moderner Fernseher und eine bequeme Couch. Erwähnenswert auch die schnelle Internetverbindung. Die großzügige Terrasse mit einer Sitzgruppe und Liegen samt Sonnenschirm rundeten das Bild ab. Bei Meeresrauschen und fantastischen Ausblick über die Küstenlinie konnten wir hier die Seele baumeln lassen und die vom Gastgeber - aus eigenem Anbau - bereitgestellte Flasche Wein genießen.

Wer, wie wir das ruhigere Teneriffa abseits des Massentourismus sucht, ist hier bestens aufgehoben. Ein gutes Restaurant in wenigen hundert Metern Entfernung sowie die günstige Lage zwischen Garachico und Icod de los Vinos waren das i-Tüpfelchen auf unserem rundum zufriedenen Aufenthalt.

Einen herzlichen Dank auch an Conchi, die Hausbetreuerin, die uns sehr herzlich empfing und uns alles im Haus erklärte und während unseres Aufenhaltes für frische Bettwäsche, Handtücher und Sauberkeit sorgte.

Sollte es uns noch einmal nach Teneriffa locken, so würden wir uns wieder für dieses stimmungsvolle Domizil entscheiden.

Schöne Unterkunft an guter Lage

Uns hat der Aufenthalt in el Guincho bestens gefallen. Die Wohnung ist schön eingerichtet und die Terrasse bietet Blick aufs Meer. Die Lage ist paar Autominuten von Garachico entfernt, einem hübschen Dorf mit vielen Restaurants.
