The village green, with its two high-quality pub restaurants, is literally on the doorstep of this fantastic character getaway!

This beach bolthole is a few steps from the end of the high street, which leads directly to the quayside a short 5-minute stroll away. The property has two generous bedrooms and a spacious living area and kitchen, with a small courtyard garden.

The beach, with its fabulous dog-friendly cafe, is reached by a 1-mile road from the quay that can be reached by car (to a large car park) or the Wells Harbour miniature railway!

A large, light and spacious living room provides two sofas with space for cosy family evenings playing the board games or catching up on the day's news or a DVD on the flat-screen television with Sky TV or listening to the great-quality wireless sound system. The wifi is fibre, with download speeds of around 35mb.

The kitchen has all mod-cons including a large fridge freezer, oven, microwave and washing machine. Also provided are are a Dolce-Gusto coffee machine and De'Longhi toaster and kettle. The dining table allows for 4 places to gather for hearty breakfast before the day's activities. There is more than sufficient kitchen equipment to take advantage of the amazing local Norfolk produce on offer in the nearby deli and other shops to create a family dinner if you decide to stay in, but it may be difficult to resist the two pubs - The Globe and The Crown - both only yards away and both providing great beers, wines and of course superb a food offering.

The two generous bedrooms offer a choice depending on guests' requirements - one has a super-king bed and the second bedroom has a zip-link which can alternate between a super-king double bed or can be separated into two single beds. Both bedrooms have brand new (2017) hotel-quality mattresses, built-in wardrobes with plenty of space and two bedside tables, each with reading lamps.

The bathroom is a light and modern suite with bath, basin and toilet, with a shower unit over the bath. A selection of complimentary high-quality toiletries is available for guests and towels for the bathroom and linen for the bedroom are of course provided for guests.

To the rear of the property there is a small paved courtyard area with a table and two chairs.

There is no designated parking, but there are no parking restrictions on The Buttlands and there is space immediately outside the property which is usually available.

This property would make a perfect getaway for friends, couples or families looking for a place close to the town, the beach and everything that the beautiful North Norfolk coast has to offer.

Fantastic location

Had a great stay at the Oar House. It is in a fantastic location - 2 doors along from the Globe pub and right opposite the green where the kids could go and play ball games and run around. It is also only 2 minutes walk from the supermarket and the top of the main shopping street and less than 10 minutes to the Quayside.

The property itself is lovely - quite compact but well laid out. The beds were large and comfortable. The main bedroom overlooks the village green, while the other bedroom overlooks the seating area at the front of the pub. Even though we were there in the height of summer, we had no problem with noise from the pub and it seemed to quieten down by about 10pm.

Jamie the owner provides a lovely welcome basket with all sorts of goodies in it, and the fridge and cupboards were stocked with the basics. There were crabbing nets, belly boards and binoculars provided to help make the most of the surrounding area.

The only minor inconvenience was parking - there is no reserved parking spot, and during the day there were very few spaces available nearby. However, it always quietened down a bit during the evening, and we could find a space somewhere around the green, although not necessarily right outside the door.

We would certainly go back to this property if we visit Wells again.

very well equiped and located

My family really enjoyed the whole experience, apart from having to contact the police, at least twice,about the noise that local youths were making in the streets out side the building, long after the entertainment had finished and most people had left the Buttlands.
