A charming and beautiful property - very relaxing
The property is a very comfortable and well presented cottage that includes everything travellers need. The beds are so comfortable and the cottage very warm and cosy. The gardens are well manicured and presented with love and care. The process from booking to departure was smoothly organised. The area is beautiful and offers many wonderful walks.
Paul Fox has been very attentive and quick to respond on all our emails. Wish we would have had the opportunity to meet him. Karin was helpful and made sure everything was in order for us when we arrived. The cottage is away from Nenagh in Smithville which is a little bit of a drive. It was very quiet which was wonderful. Tommy, the owner of the pub across the street has plenty of stories to tell about the heritage of the area. The brown door up the stairs in the picture is the cottage. It is a 2 story. 2 great size bedrooms with lovely king beds and each with its own bathroom. Lovely kitchen and living area with a great view of the garden. If we ever get back to the area, we would stay here again. Thank you Paul & Karin.
Our favorite VRBO stay
4 nights at the Old Forge 1 was definitely not enough. We absolutely loved this little cottage. Not only is it adorable, and the perfect size for the 3 of us (although 4 would fit nicely as well), but very well appointed and extremely clean and tidy and the beds are very comfortable.
It was very quiet and peaceful at night. We wish we had been there longer to actually go hiking as there is an excellent hiking trail very close to the house.
When we arrived there was a lovely loaf of bread waiting for us, which we replenished several times at the little shop across the street (along with a homemade apple pie). A perfect place to fill up on milk and eggs and little forgotten items as well.
We went into Limerick every day as we were there for a karate championship and it took us about 25 minute to get to the University of Limerick. As much as we enjoyed Limerick, it was nice coming back to the quiet of Silvermines every evening. One night there was a traffic jam for a few minute with a herd of cows. My husband marveled at the cut grass in the garden. His ambition is to cut our grass like that. The locals are incredibly friendly and we really enjoyed even our short time here.
Paul is very responsive to emails and answering questions. I can't recommend this property enough and we hope to one day be back. Thank you Paul for sharing your lovely cottage.
Excellent Self Catering Accommodation
