'The Irish Rose' - Your Colorado dream vacation get-away!

***Hot Tub installed June 2013!!**

Please see the same 'Irish Rose' listing under Breckeridge--it has additional photos! Listing number is 13578.

Completed in May 2002, this mountain cabin is located on the historic Mosquito Gulch Trail. Just 15 miles south of Breckenridge, it is the perfect spot for either a secluded get-away or a ski vacation at a fraction of the cost.

Centered on ten acres of pine and aspen, the Irish Rose was designed to accommodate those who want a true Colorado experience. With Mosquito Creek flowing nearby, you will enjoy spectacular views of Pennsylvania and London Mountains as you relax with family and friends. A seven person hot tub sits out front in the location of an old historic mine if you want to relax and enjoy the view from there!

If summer hiking, biking or four-wheeling is your desire, four of Colorado's 14,000 foot peaks are at your doorstep, providing some of the best hiking and driving trails in the world. Tackle the summits of Mount Bross, Mount Democrat, Mount Cameron, and Mount Lincoln... all in a single day!

Gold pan on the local creeks, explore 'Buckskin Joe' trail, and visit the ghost town of Park City. The historic mining towns of Alma and Fairplay are also nearby. Mountain bike to your heart's content or drive the legendary 4x4 'Mosquito Pass' into Leadville. Pick wildflowers and view wildlife--there's something for everyone!

If winter activities are your goal, the beautiful village of Breckenridge is just a short drive north where you can enjoy premier Colorado skiing, dining, and shopping. Keystone, Arapahoe Basin, and Copper Mountain are also close. Or, stay near home and cross-country ski to your heart's content. We have it all!

The Irish Rose was built with families in mind. The main level has a great room with a gas fireplace and floor-to-ceiling windows showcasing the beautiful mountains and trees. It is surrounded by a huge 32 by eight foot wrap-around deck. A full kitchen and dining area are also on this level to create an open, spacious environment. Pets are NOT allowed, No Smoking.

There are two main level bedrooms, one with a queen bed, and one with double bed and trundle geared for up to three kids. The great room sofa also pulls out to a queen-size bed. The master bedroom loft has a queen bed, washer and dryer, along with a small private balcony. There are full baths on both the main level and the loft. The cabin also has a lower level with a private entrance in the back which is occupied by 'Mountain Kay', the landlord. Kay has 30+ years of experience in Park and Summit Counties. She is quiet, very knowledgeable on the local area, and can assist with anything you need. She has two old dogs who will go hiking with you if you like!

Experience the Rocky Mountains in the comfort of the 'Irish Rose.' At over 10,000 foot elevation, it's as close to heaven as you can get!

About Rich

We are a military family who built this home in 2002 and are blessed that we can share it with others!

Rich purchased this cabin in 2002

Why Rich chose South Central Colorado

We have long ties to this part of Colorado. The Irish Rose feels wild and secluded but is close to Alma and Faiplay, and a short drive to the mountain ski town of Breckenridge.

What makes this cabin unique

The Irish Rose has 10 acres of total seclusion with pine, aspen, a river, and amazing views. Many houses on the internet may look similar, but very few properties give you the total Colorado experience. Look at our guestbook and see that it will be a unique and memorable experience!

The Irish Rose Vacation 2013

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at the "Irish Rose" was nothing less than spectacular. The Cabin was well maintained and beautiful, and well equiped with anything you needed. The land that it is on was fun for exploring and hiking or just relaxing by the creek.

The area is centrally located for touring the Royal Gorge, Pikes Peak and Brekenridge, along with other scenic sites.

The people of Alma and Fairplay were friendly and respectful and helpful when looking for directions or information. Our Family would gladly stay at the "Irish Rose" again and again whenever possible.

Thank You for a wonderful place for a wonderful and relaxing vacation.

Buddy and Sharmon and family

Beautiful, quiet getaway!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was absolutely beautiful and was the most perfect vacation we could have asked for! From waking up the first morning to a gorgeous sunset, a quiet hike around the property with amazing views, lying in the hot tub watching the stars, dinner by the fire with everything we needed in the well stocked kitchen - it just couldn't have been more relaxing and enjoyable! There was a sweet welcome gift when we arrived and the place was very clean and organized. We just can't wait to return!

Great mountain getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We spent three nights at the Irish Rose and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The place was remote and beautiful. We were close to historical sites, a couple of towns, and lots of hiking! The place was comfortable and was more than we needed for the two of us. We plan on coming back with our kids!

Spectacular views all around

  • 5 of 5

The Irish Rose Cabin was more than what my family and I expected. It was an awesome opportunity to get to stay there. Kay the care taker of the property was very friendly and had lots of knowledge of the area. Kay also didn't mind my kids running around like a herd of cattle. Very friendly place to take the kids and get away from it all. The hiking trails were a great place to take the kids and go explore. The old mine shafts on the property made it extra unique. All the little details that went into the cabin made you feel at home. They had a library of movies and games to make the late nights enjoyable. My favorite place was to relax in the hot tub and breath in the fresh mountain air. It was a well needed break from life and staying at the Irish Rose made it perfect. I would recommend anyone wanting to escape from the overcrowded tourist traps to defiantly look into staying here. you will be more than satisfied.

Great location!

Second visit for us and it was just as great as the first. Great place to hike and explore. Not too far from Breckinridge for an afternoon shopping and enjoying the pubs.
