We are a retired couple who took early retirement and spend much of our time in Punta Mujeres or at our other properties in Costa Teguise and Cape Coral Florida maintaining our properties. We especially love our time in Punta Mujeres.
Diana purchased this Apartment in 2006
Why Diana chose Punta Mujeres
This property is very unique. Due to planning laws it is very difficult to acquire any property this close to the sea front. Having direcet access to the sea is a wonderful experience, either viewing it from the top terrace or sitting by the sea wall watching the waves roll in.

Fantastic Family Holiday
This place was brilliant. The appartment is right by the sea, and the swimming and snorkelling is fantastic. The village is quiet, but with enough places to eat out and to shop for picnics and cooking if you chose to eat in. The kitchen is well equipped, and we were able to cook for 5 of us most nights. The village is well placed for seeing all of the island, and driving around was extremely easy. There was a minor problem with the electricity one evening (the whole village was out for a short time!!) and the owners were quick to make sure that everything was sorted out for us.
I would highly recommend this place an an excellent place for a family holiday.
Casa Neptune is a lovely apartment right by the sea in the quaint, typically Spanish village of Punta Mujeres.
The ground floor apartment was very well fitted out - clean, comfortable and convenient. The owners are helpful and pleasant to deal with.
My partner and I slept in the bigger of the two bedrooms as it had the big double bed. The disadvantage of this room is that the water tank is very loud in here, so when the toilet is flushed in the upstairs apartment, the tank kicks in loudly for a few minutes - not loud enough to disturb sleep, but irritating when you're trying to drop off.
Otherwise, we had a wonderful stay here. Though there isn't a great deal in the way of bars, restaurants and shops in Punta Mujeres, there are a few, and Arrietta, a stones throw away, has plenty, so don't let this put you off.
Walking along the sea front from one end of the village to other, winding through the back streets, feels magical. It's a special place and the apartment feels special too, situated where it is. I would recommend this apartment and the village to anyone with a taste for something more authentic Than the more touristic resorts to be found in the south.
We really did enjoy our stay at Casa Neptune and may very well return in the future.
This is the third time we have stayed at this apartment. The owners Doug and Diana have always gone out of their way to make sure our stay has gone without a problem and this year was no exception. The apartment has been updated since we last stayed and as always is spotless with everything on hand.
Beautiful Seafront Location
We stayed in the ground floor apartment and had a wonderful holiday. This was our second visit to Punta Mujeres and we enjoyed it as much if not more than the first. The apartment is spacious well maintained and very clean. It is well equipped for a week or month and was very much as described in the advertisement. We were not disappointed. The village and surrounding areas are very beautiful and the locals very friendly. There are varied seafront bars and restaurants in Punta Mujeres and neighboring Arrieta. The owners were very helpful in the booking process and keen to ensure everything was right for us. The Cactus Gardens at Guatiza, the Cueveas de los Verdes, Jameos Del Aqua, and the town of Haria are very close. We walked along the coast which was very easy and enjoyable. There are sea pools all along the coastline in Punt Mujeres. The best part was walking outside in the morning and sitting beside the sea with a drink. I strongly recommend this holiday location to families, couples and individuals looking for something different.
I contacted the owner on our return from Punta Mujeres and although he did acknowledge my lengthy and detailed email, he promised to respond 'shortly' with a full report. After more than 2 weeks, we are still waiting on his comments.
I think the biggest disappointment we encountered was the condition of the bikes. My partner had to request allen keys from John (agent) as it was pretty obvious they hadn't been used or maintained on a regular basis. There is a long list of complaints with regard to the bikes, but probably suffice to say they were certainly not road worthy. I had the misfortune of falling off the bike in the back lane on our 2nd day, and all I was doing was testing the bike. Thank goodness I was not on the road with traffic! A Spanish girl came to my aid and attended to my elbow and knee which was badly scraped, but my right ankle is still causing me discomfort. As I'm sure you will appreciate, I lost all confidence in the bike and decided that I would not be using it at all. (There were no helmetts provided either.
The lack of cylce use was a big let down as we are keen cyclists, and the use of the bikes was an attraction to us when making the booking with yourselves. We considered hiring bikes from the local bike rental shop, but after pricing the bikes we decided not to bother.
Although we enjoyed our stay in Punta Mujeres, we did not find it a cheap holiday and on a value for money basis, we have experienced much better. We travel abroad 3 times yearly and this is the first negative feedback we have ever had to offer. I was reluctant to post this review, but having had no contact from the owner in over 2weeks, I feel I am quite justified in doing so.
First of all I strongly refute the comments made by the reviewer regarding the bikes. The bikes were maintained in a reasonable condition and were definitely roadworthy. We were there at the end of March and I checked them out personally. When we returned in June I again inspected the bikes and found the only fault was that on one bike the rear brakes were sticking slightly. This was easily adjusted and I used the bike myself. there was no fault on the second bike. I do not understand why she fell off the bike but I can assure people that there was no fault on the bike which would have caused this. The bikes are one of many extra items provided without charge. During the booking process or prior to their arrival at no time did the complainer mention the bikes at all. No questions or request that they be ready for their arrival. The bikes are stored and available for use by our guests when available. I would have thought that if the bikes were so important they would have mentioned it to us prior to their holiday.I also think if they are keen cyclists any adjustments required could have been easily corrected. The bikes are approximately 3 year old mountain bikes.I must add that at no time during their stay did they contact us regarding the bikes or anything else.
In regard to value for money I once again refute the cooments. The apartment has everything you could ask for in a self catering apartment. There is 100 m2 of living space plus a roof terrace of similar size. The guest are provided in the apartment with linen, towels,TV, VCR, DVD player, CD and radio, books, telephone, internet, a fully equipped kitchen, toaster, electric kettle, fridge freezeer, etc.. The terrace roof has a kitchenette with 2 ring hob, kettle, and small refirgerator. The terrace itself has magnificient 360 degree views of the sea and mountains. A similar view can be obtained form the apartment lounge and kitchen. The property is literally 2 metres from the sea. I would like to know if any properties so close to the sea can be rented for less than they were charged. The local bars and restaurants are pretty reasonable compared with the rest of the island. Our local bar on the seafront charges 1.20 euros for a beer. There are some expensive retaurants but you can read the menus before entering. Overall I'm disappointed with the comments of the reviewer as I found them not to be objective and the review not balanced or fair.
An amazing location. The apartment was very comfortable with the bathroom and bedroom being a great size The kitchen had everything in it you will need. The views from the lounge/dinner where wonderful. Very comfortable furniture in the lounge and a great dinning room table. Will we go back. You bet we will.
The village of Punta Mujeres is located on the north-east coastline of Lanzarote adjacent to Arrieta. The property is situated on the seafront which is just a few metres from the door. The streets and paths hug the coastline so you are never far from the water. A variety of beaches and sea pools are scattered throughout the village. Lanzarote is a small but beautiful varied island with volcanic black or white sandy beaches and breathtaking views. Along the nearby coasts are numerous beaches, sand dunes, the port of Orzola, and volcanic rock waterfronts. The tourist attractions of Jameos del Agua, Mirador del Rio, Cuevas de los Verdes, the Cactus Gardens of Guatiza, and palm trees of Haria are only a few miles away. Further afield there are the main tourist resorts of Costa Teguise and Puerto del Carmen, the capital city, Arrecife, wine fields of La Geria, Timanfaya volcano and the creative works of Cesar Manrique. There is magnificent varied land scape through the island.
