History of the cottage
A bit of history about Seagull Cottage it was once a part of one large quay house built in 1889 by the Coad family, who ran the neighbouring Coad's stores (now the post office). It was built on the site of an old copper ore yard where the ore, shipped down from the Caradon mines, was loaded onto ships for export. Opposite the house where you can see garages, was the old Victorian wash house. The large Quay house was later divided into 3 after WW1.
