This charming four hundred year old property is ideally situated in the very heart of the beautiful village of Bowness on Windermere. Tucked away in a secluded garden, with its own private patio, and located a stone’s throw from Lake Windermere on a well-known picturesque pedestrian street, this well-equipped two bedroom apartment is the ideal place to enjoy the combined benefits of a peaceful outdoor space and the bustle of fine eateries and quaint shops.

Admiral’s Nest is a spacious two bedroom apartment with a modern, well equipped kitchen and open plan living area. The quiet patio is equipped with new garden furniture for up to six people and a swing chair under the cover of a gazebo, so that guests can enjoy the private garden whatever the weather.

A parking permit is provided to allow parking in over 40 car parks in the local area and there is easy access to a great network of public transport. However, many fantastic walks and attractions are within walking distance, making this an ideal base for exploring the area.

This is a unique area to live in, and we love the close proximity of the Lake and all the gorgeous cafes and restaurants. Bowness is a quaint and historical town and Admiral's Nest is located in its very heart.

We provide a comprehensive welcome book with recommendations of places to eat and drink, as well as our favourite walks and places to visit. It is constantly being updated and we value guests feedback and recommendations too.

The central location of this property makes it an ideal base from which to explore the beautiful Lake District. After a day out walking or exloring, park up the car and wander around the bustling streets of Bowness, head down to Lake Windermere and enjoy the finest eateries and cocktail bars - all on the doorstep.

Not only is the location ideal, we provide a parking permit for your car that allows you to park free of charge in over 40 South Lake Land car parks.

Serenity in the heart of downtown

We enjoyed a lovely three three night stay here. The weather cooperated and we were able to enjoy the quiet peacefulness of the patio daily, while being right on top of all the sites Bowness has to offer. Everything is so close that we only used the car once during our whole stay. The mini Tesco across the street was very handy!

Access could be a challenge for the someone with mobility problems, but our 2.5 year old managed the stairs and patio fine (under supervision).

Ali & Peter were wonderful hosts and were available if we needed anything.
