About Jennifer Gale
My husband and his family purchased property in Castello in 1985 and my husband began a painstaking restoration of a number of dwellings there which remain a great and lasting tribute to his enormous talent . He passed away suddenly in 1990 and we completed the restoration of Number 6 Castello in 1991. I lived in Italy full time for 25 years and 10 of those years I lived in Castello with my son and was very happy there. I I think my property reflects the Italy I love. It's simple, rustic and authentic and I hope respects the history of the area. I now live in the UK and work as a Nurse in the NHS. I get back to Castello as much as I can.
Jennifer Gale purchased this Apartment in 1985
Why Jennifer Gale chose Borgo A Mozzano
The apartment is simple and rustic reflecting it's history as a farm worker's dwelling. It's stones are steeped in history. It remains part of a little community, my neighbours were born and bred in Castello. For anyone wanting an authentic, beautiful little countryside retreat as a base for exploring this remarkable and magnificent area of Tuscany then Castello 6 is perfect.
What makes this Apartment unique
Peace and quiet after day trips to the cities of art. West facing covered terrace to enjoy the sunset. Nature all around you from the wild flowers in the olive groves to the swallows in the skies. Breathtaking views all year round. A decent sized village only 5 mins away for amenities and Lucca, the beach, the mountains, the cities of art and Pisa airport all just down the road!

Fantastic location with stunning views from the terrace made every meal time a delight! Comfortable accommodation with a rustic feel but had everything you need for an enjoyable stay. Road to/from Castello was 'interesting' the first few times but soon became proficient to drive it the Italian way! Would stay there again.
Thank you so much for taking the time to review Castello Number 6. I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay, you are very welcome back any time.
Beautiful house and the views are spectacular
The house had everything you need for a wonderful stay. WiFi was brilliant considering you are up in the hills. You do need a car which we had as you cannot walk to the shops unless you like walking on mountain paths. Lucca is only 25mins away and is the most beautiful town. Bagni de lucca isn't too far either with a beautiful outdoor pool. Road to house is single track but with the occasional passing point.
Dreamy cottage with amazing views over the hills
We were so chuffed to come across Jenny's stone cottage.
The setting is amazing amongst the Tuscan hills. We really enjoyed spending our evenings outside on the terrace with a bottle of wine... or two.
Lucca, arguably Tuscany's crown jewel, is a short drive away and makes for an easy day trip.
Jenny herself was really nice and made sure that everything went smoothly.
We'll definitely be back again!
Stunning views from a gorgeous terrace and a lovely house in a perfect location for all the beautiful sights of Tuscany. Thank you Jenny, hopefully back soon.
Dear Jonas thank you for your lovely comments about my home in Castello you are very welcome back any time.
The road to Castello can be a little bit of a challenge for the first time but my guests quickly get the hang of it. In over 25 years of letting my property none of my guests have had any serious mishaps. I think the position and the views from the house make up for it!! Many thanks once again. Jenny
