So that you get the best from your holiday we have compiled a unique information pack covering everything ( well, we hope it's everything - we have been running our business here for over 9 years but are always excited when we find something new!). Our guests have nick-named it the "Bible" which goes everywhere! In addition, we provide an events listing on arrival covering all the local events, markets and brocantes (second hand markets). Searching for those perfect Gites in Southern Brittany? Look no further. But sadly, scamming is on the uprise. How can you avoid being a victim? Please phone us to verify we are real with some additional questions - we won't be offended - your peace of mind is important to us and we love to be able to answer any questions you may have. Most owners will have a varied web presence and can be found elsewhere with a little homework. A scammer will have none. You can find us on Linkedin, social websites, our own website and listed with the local town hall. We also list on other adverts and in the phone book. Once you've found an owner, a simple solution is to make a free voice call over the internet and ask for a quick visual look at the premises. If the owner is not nearby, ask for more proof of ownership, e.g. photos of work done on the property or photos of testimonials. Such requests will scare off most scammers. It will be well worth your while!

About Sue Anderson
In 2008, we moved to France from England for a gentler way of life and to give our daughter the advantages of becoming bi-lingual and exposure to a different culture. It was difficult with one of us having grown up in Cape Town to find something comparable but when we found Le Crann in Brittany we immediately felt at home. Now fully settled here in such a beautiful location, we can't imagine living anywhere else.
Sue Anderson purchased this Cottage in 2008
Why Sue Anderson chose Quistinic
A key criteria for our purchase was any property had to be a 'home from home' for our guests. The stunning 16th Century properties give a real taste of a bygone age with all modern conveniences. Le Crann offered everything: A warm temperate climate with sunshine hours comparable to Southern France. Brittany has it's own distinct culture and language with extremely welcoming people. Close to many sandy beaches and the glorious countryside of the Blavet Valley. Activities for young & old including golf, cycling, canoeing, sailing and walking. Delightful places of historical interest with many cultural events year long. Proximity to UK and Europe with many access points by car, ferry or plane. Private south facing gardens and extensive communal gardens with heated pools.
What makes this Cottage unique
With the large extensive gardens of 4 acres with views over the most beautiful countryside and situated at the end of a quiet country lane with no through traffic, our guests have commented on how safe and peaceful the gardens and surrounding environs are for children of all ages. The perfect place to relax and unwind. Most holiday makers only have one or two weeks in which to enjoy their holiday and a lot of time can sometime be spent trying to familiarise yourself with your environment. We have a small cottage in the main gardens and are on hand, if you so wish, to ensure you maximise your holiday and don't miss out on any holiday experience. We also have the most raved about Information Pack covering everything you could possibility want from your holiday. For those nature-lovers, walkers and cyclists there are walking paths leading directly from the property to many points of interest in the region.

A great property in beautiful surroundings with fantastic hosts.
We've just spent a wonderful week at Fuschia Cottage with three generations of the family. We loved the cottage, the beautiful gardens and pool was the perfect place to cool off. Our toddler particularly enjoyed the play house and all the lovely toys that were available.
Sue and Steve made us feel incredibly welcome, nothing was too much trouble and they seem to have thought of everything - from all the equipment in the cottage to the recommendations for activities, days out and places to eat.
We had such a lovely week thanks to our brilliant hosts and their beautiful cottage.
Great place to spend time with the grandchildren
The property is a nicely restored Bretonne barn-farmhouse. Whilst the place is rustic, it had all mod cons and was exactly as described. The owners were really helpful, providing info on things to do and places to park etc, and provide a superb reference handbook of places to visit, things to do, restaurants etc. This was invaluable during our stay and would put many tourist guides to shame! The outside space was simply lovely - your own private garden, with plenty of space to play and chill, and included a BBQ for real al fresco dining. The only small downside was that the small shop in St Yves is hardly worth the effort - no milk sold, basically just a few loaves of bread from the Artisan baker in Bubry. This means driving to Bubry for the nearest Intermarche, but this was only 15 mins away. Loads of walks (and running routes) direct from the property, with nearest beach around an hour, although the two small pools on site were lovely. Would definitely recommend the property and old love to return!
Thank you for your lovely review of our charming 16th century cottage. The local shop in St Yves is very small and it is always best to get in early to get adequate supplies, but we always recommend the excellent bakers in Bubry, which is an 8 minute car drive (15 minutes cycle ride). The nearest beach is a 35-40 minute drive away and don't forget the river beach only 10 minutes away.
A very relaxing holiday
The gites are set in lovely countryside with plenty of space and attractive gardens. Steve and Sue have put a lot of thought and effort into these properties and the result is a quiet and relaxing holiday escape. There is enough to keep children occupied and there are a lot of places to visit nearby most of which are in Sue's amazing welcome folder which means you don't need to spend time wondering where to visit! We will be back!
Thank you for your comments. We are delighted you had a relaxing holiday and made good use of the Welcome Folder. Look forward to having you back soon. Kind regards. Sue
Amazing Break away
We stayed here for one week and it was truly amazing. Steve and Sue the owners are so welcoming and helpful but at the sametime no way intrusive. The cottage is typical french with beautiful beams, shutters and a large fireplace with a woodburner if needed. We had plenty of room and every thing you need is in the cottage a real home from home. The grounds are large and spectacular with plenty of wildlife to be seen from rabbits, birds and even small friendly Gekos which our son loved. there is so much space and you have your own private garden and this then open s out onto a larger communal garden with lots of seating areas, a hammock, 2 swimming pools, a play area and lots of space to run around. It is very well kept and you will never be short of anything to do. There are also some beautiful walks around the cottage(They provide a map of all walks) and a lovely forest area to discover and the views are amazing. Sue provides a brilliant guide book in the cottage and your days can easily be planned from it. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our stay and wished it had been longer . We would have no hesitation in recommending this cottage and area and hopefully we will be back :).
Thank you very much for your lovely review. It was a pleasure to have you and hope to see you back soon.
Just home after a fantastic two week holiday at Le Crann. Our two year old daughter loved every minute, she loved the swimming pool, the slide and the little blue playhouse! Happy daughter = happy holiday! The gite was comfortable and well equipped. Sue and Steve were excellent hosts, nothing was too much trouble. All the information we received before we arrived and also in the information pack in the gite were well put together, they ensured that we made the most of our holiday. There was even a fact sheet to help us cope ordering food with our daughter's dairy allergy. Thank you Sue and Steve for a perfect holiday, hopefully we will be back one day!
We arrived to a cozy fire, a bottle of wine and treats to eat. Sue's "Bible" was invaluable: sights, restaurants, shops, history, etc. Sue, Steve and Maxine were so warm and friendly and easy to query.
We would definitely stay there again.
Le Crann is situated in the commune of Quistinic, host to the 16th century village of Poul Fetan, immaculately restored to show life at that time. If you want to step further back in time, outside the village of Melrand (15 minutes away) is the Village de l’an mil, a 1000 year old reconstructed medieval village. Close by there are many historic towns and castles to visit including Hennebont, Auray, Pontivy, Vannes and Josselin. Morbihan is renowned for its megalithic stones with so many special places to visit; Carnac with its 3000 standing stones a must see, but also those at Locmariquer, Petit Mont or even catch a boat to the island of Gavrinis. And if that’s not enough, the region has plenty of museums, zoos and parks. Art lovers can follow the 'Art in the Chapel' exhibitions throughout the summer for a tour of the Blavet River chapels. The commune of Quistinic and the Blavet Valley is a walkers and cyclists paradise and the owner has details of many published routes with walking routes leading directly from Le Crann. For a lazy day, take a cruise down the River Blavet, or take one of many boat trips to the off shore islands and around the beautiful inland sea of the Gulf du Morbihan, where you can stop off on some of the larger islands for lunch, a walk and even a cycle. There is hardly a week that goes by without some festival in the region. Lorient hosts the delightful 10 day Inter- Celtique music festival and Josselin and Hennebont hold annually medieval festival. Many regattas are held at the yachting haven of Trinite-sur-Mer. And don't forget those local markets and brocantes for fresh produce or that antique bargain.
