Maison du Jardin forms part of Maison du Ruisseau the main house where you can rent all 3 gites direct through our website maisonruisseau or you can obtain our phone number from our main site.

We supply a FREE welcome pack in all our gites on arrival.

Maison du Jardin is the largest of the three properties set in the front courtyard overlooking the orchard. It has its own private terrace nestled in the center of the gardens. There are three double bedrooms, two bathrooms, one being an en-suite and two separate w/c's. The attractive coloured beams and open plan living area incorporates the sitting room, dining and kitchen area (40m2) with the staircase to the upstairs mezzanine twin bedroom (16m2). The gite has under-floor central heating throughout. Sky freeview CD & DVD. The kitchen is fully equipped to include electric cooker, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer and washing machine/tumble dryer. The main double bedroom (20m2) is decorated to ensure that comfort and style are priority, with a leather bed and drapes, plenty of storage to include walk-in wardrobe and large en-suite facilities. The second double bedroom (12m2) comprises twin beds (which can be converted to a double), light oak furniture with a large built in wardrobe.

The property is provided with patio tables and chairs for all the gites; they are located on the terrace pool area and in the garden to ensure sun all day and early evening, it's ideal for eating breakfast, lunch and dinner outside. Sun loungers and umbrellas are also provided for the garden and the pool area. Each of the gites is equipped with a barbecue and tools for 'al fresco' dining.

There is also free parking for your car.

About Ian and Val

Maison du Ruisseau is a beautiful restored Charentaise house dating back to 1838 with a beautifully matured open courtyard garden of wild flowers, lavender, wisteria, jasmine, honeysuckle and a beautiful fig tree.

We took over this business of 3 gites, each with it's quality, charentaise style and individuality, and to increase it's popularity as a home away from home in one of the most beautiful regions of France.

Ian and Val purchased this cottage in 2015

This property and our two other properties are equipped to a very high standard, but most of all, we are very proud of the quality of each of our gites and how we look them and after our guests. We want you to feel at home and offer a welcome pack of essentials on arrival including a good bottle of local wine. Nothing is too much trouble. Many other gites we feel do not come up to this standard.

So come stay with us in these beautiful gites in the Chateauneuf sur Charente area, near Cognac and Angouleme, all private and secluded within the premises with a shared swimming pool. .

Excellent access from Bordeaux airport and other regional airports nearby. Many local good restaurants and not far from the coast in Royan.

What makes this cottage unique

Maison du Ruisseau is "a real get away from it all location" set in the heart of the Charente. Originally a farmhouse built in 1838, it has been tastefully and lovingly restored by the previous owners maintaining many of the character features of the region and equipped to the highest standard. The 3 gites may be rented individually or as one unit. It is set within a very pretty walled garden with complete privacy. Each property has its own individual style complete with its own terrace. The swimming pool is to the rear of the property and is fitted with a safety alarm in accordance with French law. The Charente is a beautiful unspoilt area of France, set in the heart of the Cognac vineyard region. It is an excellent location to access many of the local towns and surrounding areas. The landscape is rich and varied with acres of sunflowers and vines. Cognac is 30 min. drive where you can visit many of the famous distilleries. Or, the picturesque vineyards of St Emilion which are a pleasant hours drive away. There is also the picturesque town of Angouleme with its impressive views and lots of shops in its historic centre.

Bedroom 2 of 12m2 has twin single beds, a large corner wardrobe and tall boy drawer unit. Across the entrance hall is the main spacious bathroom. The window looks out to the corner of the jardin. Bedroom 3 of 16m2 is on the mezzanine level above the lounge. This also has twin beds. ( but if requested can be joined as a double.) To the side is also a 5m3 rest/relax area with balcony.

+ £100 reduction for 2 week bookings.(Excluding Special offers/Deals etc.)
+ Bookings are normally from Saturday to Saturday.
+ Arrival is from 1600h and Departure from 1000h.
+ Payment of deposit reserves your holiday.
+ Receipt of your deposit will be seen as accepting our booking terms and conditions as laid out on our ‘Booking Conditions’ page which we ask you to read.
+ Full payment is required 8 weeks before your arrival
+ A returnable security deposit of £200 is required with your final payment and will be returned to you within 2 weeks of the end of your holiday.
+ A small cash charge for cleaning is required of 50 euros at the end of your stay before departure.
+ Out of high season we are happy to negotiate arrival and departure times
+ You must make you own arrangements for holiday insurance

  • 50% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date.
  • 100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
