Great location and family friendly!
BirchHill Lodge was perfect for our family of 8! It is a comfortable and well-appointed holiday home-away-from home! Thank you, Una & Pete, for a lovely stay!
J & J and family from Jacksonville, FL
We had a lovely time in this cozy house, specially because Una and Peter were so kind and welcoming. The house is very comfortable and was the perfect size for our family of 8 adults and 2 kids. We spent Christmas and NYE and we would definitely stay there again if we decide to spend this time of the year in Ireland again.
Super recommend it. :)
A large, warm, comfortable house in a good location.
I stayed here with five family members. The house is very spacious, warm and well equipped .
Pete was willing to share his knowledge of the area and was available to deal with any queries.
The location is ideal for exploring the Wicklow area.
Fantastic, comfortable, and stylish vacation house!
We really enjoyed our stay at the house--we were a small family and while the house would certainly feel very comfortable for a larger group, it was just fine for us as well. The location is perfect--easy traveling into the Wicklow Mountains, and Glendalough, a quick drive to Greystones and the coast, and very easy to get up to Dublin. The house was private, quiet, and while the weather was a bit cool while we were there, the patio/outdoor area/bbq was also really nice.
The owners were also great--very friendly and helpful as we arrived, with loads of insight into the area.
We were there with our 3.5 year old son, and the playground in Ashford Village is world-class--he spent more than 3 hours there one day, and would have been more than happy to make it a daily visit. The house worked well for him--we didn't spend much time at all on the upper floor, but he had no trouble navigating the stairs and the landing was absolutely safe for him (and would be for even younger children).
All in all, this was one of the nicest vacation houses we've been in--nicely outfitted, clean, very welcoming, and in a perfect location for exploring the Ancient East, Dublin, the Irish sea coast, and a bit more. We'd be happy to go back!
Brilliant self contained house with everything you may need
I rented this property in July ahead of my wedding. It was really important to me to not be in a hotel but a comfortable house which would make brilliant photos. This property and letting certainly lived up to my demands.
Una and her husband Pete couldn't have done any more for us. They were really helpful when I panicked looking for local help. They were particularly pleasant about our shoddy parking too! Even ahead of our arrival Una gave so much help and and support- it didn't feel like you were dealing through an automated website but a professional family.
The house was brilliant- it was contemporary, warm on cold days and cool on warm days. We were a family of 4 -6 staying. When we had hairdressers and makeup artists in the house, it didn't feel cluttered or stuck for space. It was clean, comfy beds, plenty of hanging space and all the bits and bobs you need for cooking/ hosting/ general living!
Location was ideal for us- my mum was able to walk down to the local shops in about 10mins but we used our car quite a bit.
All in all- well recommend- I hope to return for my anniversaries!
