Our home from home is situated close to the heart of Cardiff, Wales' capital city. We offer plenty of space, four bedrooms:- One king en-suite, one twin en-suite, two double rooms and a large family bathroom with shower and a bath for the little ones. Sleeps 8 people plus cots. Choose to dine in the dining room, kitchen or weather permitting in our walled garden area. Our beds are comfy and sofas relaxing. We have super fast broad band available in all rooms to keep everyone happy.

Great for relaxing in between exploring all that our beautiful city has to offer, Cardiff Castle and The Doctor Who experience being just some of our guests favourites.

Parking is on street and unrestricted.

Our home is situated close to the city and Mermaid Quay. It is in a quiet residential areas. Sorry we cannot accommodate house parties. In respect of our neighbours we ask for quiet between 11pm and 7am Thanks you

Perfect family stay

I had booked the house for my family to stay in on a trip from the US. Our group comprised of myself, husband, two children (2&4), my brother, his wife, and their two children (12&17). This house was PERFECT for us! We stayed for a week, and it really felt like home. It was a big house, with plenty of ample seating and obviously beds for us all! Plenty of towels were provided, extra pillows were helpful too. The house also has a good sized garden with table and chairs. We used the washing machine and the drying rack was helpful since it rained the day I did washing!

The house is located in a quiet side street with no through traffic, but just 20 seconds and you're on the main high street with plenty of convenience stores (Tesco, One Stop) and plenty of eating options including Brutons Bakery and other foods. It was a quick 20 minute walk down to Cardiff Bay, and a 15 minute walk into the center of the city.

Upon our arrival Sheila met us at the house and showed us around, ensuring we knew where everything was that we may need.

I would definitely recommend this house, and would love to book it for our next trip over!

Owner's Response: Caroline and her family were the perfect guests. They kept in touch so I knew what time to meet them and hand over the key and show them around. They were very polite and friendly. Well presented house in quiet area of cardiff

We were a group of 6 retirees used to having short breaks in accommodation suitable for our respective needs.

The house was located in a very quiet area and Sheila, the owner welcomed us, and provided a complete tour of the house. Sheila was very helpful directing us to the house and leaving a welcome pack of food for us. The house was well presented with comfortable beds and extra pillows etc were available if required. We were fortunate with the weather and the added benefit of the walled garden in which to sit and relax. There were good public transport links to town and waterfront plus a variety of places to eat and drink within easy walking distance which we enjoyed.

We found the house cramped for 6 adults and the steep narrow stairs were difficult to navigate for our collective ages. From the original description of the house when we booked, we assumed that the family bathroom was near the 2 double bedrooms but in fact it was located on the ground floor alongside the kitchen. The en-suite facilities in our opinion were small and were used as toilet facilities rather than en-suite shower rooms. This necessitated us collectively using the main shower facilities. The boiler for the hot water and heating was located in a double bedroom next to the bed which was disturbing for 2 members of our group. None of us were able to use the other double bedroom, due to the position of the bed, which was less suitable for members of our group because of our age and mobility.

Overall we were disappointed that the house did not meet our expectations based on the details listed on Homeaway website. A floor plan of the property on the website would have been helpful in setting realistic expectations on our part.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your feed back and your positive comments. We take very seriously our guests enjoyment of our home. I was surprise to read your negative comments. The house is as described, not suitable for disabled access. If,(as per your review,) your guests had mobility problems, I would have been more than happy to answer questions prior to your booking. When I showed you and your guests around the house, they followed me and didn’t seem to have any problems. Regarding the “steep narrow stairs,” The stairs, are original and in my opinion, are not unusual. The first floor to second floor, (loft conversion stairs,) are built to current building regulations and planning consent; we would not legally be able to accommodate people in the rooms otherwise. During the tour around the house I did mention that the boiler will ‘fire up,’ occasionally (as do all combi boilers,) I showed everyone how to turn it off a night if this was a problem. As regard to the en-suite facilities, both are of a normal size, you can shower, dry yourself and use the toilet with the door closed. There is a toilet and shower located on each of the floors of the house. The family bathroom is located on the ground floor, which is typical of this type of town house; as they were built without the benefit of a bathroom originally. Many people find this useful particularly those with young children. With respect, may I suggest, if it was important to know the location of the bathrooms in relation to the bedrooms, you could have asked me. I would have been more than happy to clarify this with you prior to booking. The double bed in one room is against the wall, however, in all the years we have been letting the house, we haven’t received a complaint. As the house has sleeping arrangements for eight people, (four bedrooms) and your party were six, you were able to choose the twin room en-suite over one of the doubles. I am sorry that you were disappointed. Personally, I have not seen any listing with a floor plan. I trust that in the future you will feel able to ask questions of your proposed host, so that your requirements can be met. I am very approachable, as I’m sure you experienced. I took 45mins guiding you , and personally riding in your car to the house as you didn’t have a sat-nav. I was on call to answer questions when you rang a couple of times. I do hope you will continue to enjoy holidays with Owners direct. Kind regards Sheila

Basic but absolutely fine

The house was well presented and clean and tidy. Comfy beds, plenty of kitchen equipment. Sheila was a fantastic host and provided some lovely breakfast bits for us. The house is really well located for the Principality stadium, although you might want to get a taxi there/back at night if you're on your own. The house was warm and child friendly. we had a great weekend.

As I understand your guests had several cars, therefore I would expect some difficulty parking on the street at times. Yes, our home is popular. However all the beds are new and we maintain the house to high standards ensuring everything is working and clean. Great place to stay.

Booked house for a joint 50th Birthday celebration. The house was very clean & comfortable. It was perfect for our needs & was fairly close to town centre. We were very close to bus routes & local shops. Sheila met us at the house & was very informative & helpful. We all had a great time & would definitely recommend it.

Great stay excellent location.

Found the ideal location in Cardiff to see the city. Only a few minutes from the centre and just as close to Cardiff Bay, this house is in a quiet location but still very central. Great host that provided some welcome extras on arrival that were much appreciated. We were very lucky with the weather as well! Very enjoyable trip.
