Overview

Basilica of Santa Croce Apartment Rental Photos and Description

Apartment, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

This charming and unique apartment sets on the ground floor of a historic building right at Florence's Historic Center. It is strategically situated just 5 minutes walk from Piazza Santa Croce, and 15 minutes walk from Piazza Signoria and The Ufizzi.

This accommodation has been restored and converted into an adorable apartment, very well furnished and with modern facilities. The highlight is its private, sunny garden with dining table for 'al fresco' meals. Private parking is also available.

There is a cosy living room , dining room at a veranda facing the garden, well equipped kitchen with everything you need to cook a delicious Tuscan meal, a master double room with fresco ceiling with in suite bathroom, a double bedroom with 2 single beds, a studio with 2 single beds plus one bathroom with shower. All bathrooms are made with Carrara marble.

The market of Santo Ambrogio , the most characteristic food market in Florence is only at 5 minutes walk. It is a nice way to wake up in the morning, have a lazy breakfast with a true cappuccino or espresso and take a tour around fresh and exquisite season vegetables and fruits or local cheese just smelling the flower's newest aromas.

All around, there are many restaurants and bars where local Fiorentini go for a quick coffee, lunch and dinner meals, with a vast selection of places running from wine bars, wooden oven pizzerias, local trattorie and famous restaurants.

From there, you can also rent bikes to visit Florence everywhere you want to go!

The famous FLEA MARKET of Florence is located in Piazza dei Ciompi at only 10 minutes walk from the apartment. It opens every day from 9 to 19.30. If you're lucky enough to go there on the last Sunday of every month, the stalls extend into the surrounding streets. Here you can find furniture and objects from the past, prints, coins and jewellery. It's worth a trip if only to get insights on Italy's past through the artifacts displayed in these cluttered stalls.

Cooking classes and/or Cooking services are also available on request.

Fun cooking classes on Tuscan Recipes, good tips and the pleasure to have learned and cooked your own Tuscan meal!

Or if you just want to relax and enjoy a wonderful typical meal at home, just choose from different menus and let me know.

Ask for more details.

I live close by and available 24/7.

Excellent apartment in the middle of everything

  • 5 of 5

Everything was perfect at the apartment. Nicely located on a (fairly) quiet street in the old part of town. The front bedroom can get noisy on weekend nights even when the window is closed. If you are a light sleeper, you should take the back bedroom. Easy walking distance to all of the main sites. 15 to 20 minute walk to train station, quicker on the bus but take a taxi when you have luggage since the buses fill up quickly.

The apartment was everything as described and Christina went thru the entire apartment letting us know how things worked. The kitchen was great but could use some larger coffee mugs for us americans who love their coffee in the morning. There is a clothes washer in the basement but no dryer, which is common in europe.

There is a drying rack which worked out fine.

There are many restaurants in the area that cater to locals. There is one in the courtyard just across the street which was wonderful. You should ask Christina to point it out and give it a try.

If we ever make it back, we would certainly stay there again.

5 Star apartment in Florence

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was everything that it was described to have. The owner met us and welcomed us to Florence. The apartment was clean and well stocked. The owner came over once when we had a question on how to turn on the TV.

I would highly recommend the Apartment to anyone visiting Florence. The market and stores were near by as described.

We were recommended 3 restaurants by the owner and tried all 3.

We loved our trip to Italy and it was enhanced by this Apartment and the owners willingness to help in any way possible.

Our recent stay in Florence

  • 5 of 5

I and five girlfriends spent a week at the apartment. The location is excellent, very close to a wonderful farmer's market, Duomo, Termini train and bus station, Ponte Vecchio, Galleria Uffici, and other attractions. The owner was extremely helpful going out of her way to help us with anything we needed, including maps, directions, booking taxis to the airport, etc. She is very fluent in English, which was extremely helpful. Christina is very customer oriented and very efficient as well. We had a great stay.

Perfect two month vacation!

  • 5 of 5

Our two month stay in the apartment was wonderful! The apartment was very nice, very clean, and in a perfect location for us. While we were in a local neighborhood, with very few tourists (which we loved), we were within a ten or fifteen minute walk of all the best sights. We used the dry-cleaners/laundry which was seven minutes away, by the market--and it was excellent. We shopped at the Sant' Ambrosia market, the local grocery and bakery, and it was all close, good, and convenient. About seven minutes from the apartment was a tiny corner restaurant, Il Giova, and they had the best food we had in Florence. We ate there at least three times a week. It was delicious and so reasonable. Actually there were so many good restaurants in the immediate area, that we often walked home just to eat in the neighborhood. Best of all, our landlady, Christina, was a delight. Because she had lived in the apartment, she knew the whole area well, and gave great recommendations. She was also very attentive, and gave prompt help whenever we needed it. We would absolutely stay there again--maybe for another two months, if we're lucky! We highly recommend this apartment.

Wonderful Stay in Florence

  • 5 of 5

My trip to Florence in April 2012 was one of the best ever. Christina was very hospitable to myself and family. The apartment was just like it was described and pictured. It is located perfectly. It is no more than a 10-20 minute walk to everything. And the market (5 min walk away) was the absolute best. We went there every morning and purchased fresh foods, jewelry, goods, and clothing!! I can't wait to go back. The italians are very delightful and love children.

Thanks Christina for helping make this trip so memorable. You are the best! We are coming back to see you May 2013!

Wonderful Visit

  • 5 of 5

My family came to visit and I was looking for, most importantly, an apartment near my own and the centro. Christina was so wonderful and accommodating to our last minute request, and my parents were extremely pleased with the apartment. I have been living in Florence for a few months, and this apartment had more amenities than most, the internet actually worked! The location is wonderful, which allows for easy access to all the main sights, and very close to a few wonderful restaurants up on Via de' Macci. The apartment was better than imagined, very clean and roomy. I have three teenaged sisters, and they were very pleased with the apartment, as they were able to escape to their own room, but it would be perfect for young children too, as there is a walled garden. I was even able to meet the housekeeper, Celia, who is equally wonderful! My parents said that if they were to return, they would definitely want to stay here again, and will be recommending the apartment friends traveling abroad.
