About Gareth Jones
We are a retired couple who purchased the property as a coastal retreat for the whole family. We absolutely love the property for its spectacular views and its convenience to the shops, restaurants, bars etc. of Porthmadog. The entire family also love visiting the property.
Gareth Jones purchased this House in 2015
Why Gareth Jones chose Porthmadog
The property sits in Snowdon Wharf on the Porthmadog Marina. Guests love the spectacular views over the estuary towards Portmeirion and Harlech castle and also the Ffestiniog Railway which runs along the cob. The property has all mod cons and is a comfortable place to stay (with SKY tv and WIFI). It is also a bird watchers paradise as the changing tide attracts various birds and wildlife throughout the day. Even on a cold, wintry, rainy day guests can still enjoy the breathtaking estuary views from the sofa (or bed) through the large patio doors. The property has been recently refurbished so the interior is very modern and fresh with a nautical edge! Porthmadog is a traditional welsh small market town with a traditional high street with butchers, deli's, coffee shops and various gift shops. It also enjoys three major supermarkets for your everyday products.
What makes this House unique
Breathtaking views Modern fresh nautical interior Great location for relaxing or for the many adrenaline experiences north Wales have to offer. Beautiful sandy beaches are only a 20 minute walk away and the rugged mountains of Snowdon are also only a short drive away. It really has something for everyone.

We were thrilled with the property, it felt warm, cosy and friendly immediately. Views were brilliant . Everything you needed for the perfect break was provided . Had a great few days Thank you.
Delighted that you enjoyed your stay in our holiday home. Hope you will come again.
An amazing property
Immaculate home with great facilities, located very conveniently in central Porthmadog. The views over the estuary are to die for and the owners had very thoughtfully provided 2 sets of binoculars and several bird books so that we were able to become bird watchers. It started us off on a new hobby! It was also fascinating to see the engines and trains of the Ffestiniog and the Welsh Highland Railways crossing the Cob. The location was incredibly peaceful in spite of being in the middle of the development. Oh and a great pub is only 2 minutes walk away! The owners were extremely helpful and thoughtful. We would highly recommend this house.
Superb accommodation in a great location
This is a very clean, comfortable and well maintained property with a well equipped kitchen.
It is in a quiet location and ideal for exploring the region. Views from the property are spectacular.
I also had the pleasure of meeting Sue and Gareth and it was clear that they take a pride in their property and were keen to ensure that I enjoyed my stay.
Wonderful, comfy house with a spectacular view of the Glaslyn Estuary and Ffestiniog Railway.
We had a wonderful week and the house is lovely. The views are as breathtaking as we’d imagined, if not more so. We could see all the FR/WHR trains come and go and the bird watching also kept us very well occupied. The house is very well kept, warm and cosy and the upstairs living arrangement works so well for the views. Balcony deck and outdoor furniture also great. Easy walk to the town and harbour. Kitchen neat and well equipped allowing us to cook easily. Sky TV and Wi-fi ready to go for a wet day. Binoculars and bird books (along with lots of others) also a nice touch. We would recommend without reservation and will be booking another stay. Thank you!
Excellent getaway. Great location with amazing views.
Visited Porthmadog for a relaxing weekend.
House was brilliant and very quiet. Views were stunning and it had everything you could need.
Have stayed in several cottages and this was one of the best.
Recommend it to anyone.
Ever changing, wonderful estuary views-one of the main reasons for staying here.
Very comfortable and well equipped home. Good access to shops in Porthmadog and surrounding areas including Black Rock Sands, Borth y Gest, and of course the Ffestiniog railway.
Thank you for your kind words. I am so pleased that you enjoyed your stay. Hope to see you again. Sue
