Luxury cottage in the heart of Dartmoor
Situated within 40 beautiful acres, the cottage is a warm, traditional, detached stone barn. Offering luxury, peace, tranquility and stunning views all around. The cottage is the sole holiday home on the estate, so you don't have to share the lovely gardens and grounds with anybody else!
There are many great features for everybody. Relax and unwind by the Willsworthy Brook in the secluded cottage gardens or enjoy some lovely walks and picnics around the grounds. There is your own stretch of the splendid River Tavy to enjoy (with single bank fishing rights included) and you can even take a dip in our rock pool, the perfect place to cool off on a hot summer’s day! Try your hand at Clay Pigeon shooting, which is available onsite or Falconry which can be arranged for you to experience within the grounds. In the evening enjoy the stunning views of Dartmoor and gorgeous sunsets from the courtyard seating area. The estate also has a stable yard and an infamous Shetland Pony named Jerry, who is perfect for younger guests to pat and groom. It may also be possible to arrange pony rides direct with the owner. Alternatively, you can explore the moors on horse back as there is a horse and pony trekking centre just five minutes drive away.
Nearby is the award winning market town of Tavistock with its famous market, shops, pubs and restaurants. The beaches on the south coasts of Devon and Cornwall are easily reached. Nearby attractions include National Trust properties such as, Lydford Gorge and Castle Drogo or visit Becky falls and historic Plymouth with its Hoe, Barbican and National Marine Aquarium.
The cottage sleeps six people and comprises of three large bedrooms, including an en-suite king-size master room and a large family bathroom. There is an open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area with a wood-burner and every modern facility you could wish for – from dishwasher to iPod docking station. Luxury bedding, soaps and fluffy towels are provided, as is free unlimited Wi-Fi.
Dogs- are welcome to stay in their own luxury heated kennels, with large indoor and outdoor runs, adjoining the cottage. You and your four legged friend can enjoy some lovely walks on Dartmoor or around the estate grounds. The cottage garden provides a safe and secure area for your dog to play in and having the kennels means that you can leave your dog if you don't want to take them with you all the time (most cottages will not let you leave your dog unattended) You can be rest assured that your pet will have a great holiday as well!
Dogs fees are charged per dog at £35.00 for up to 7 nights.

Even better than I remembered!
Returning to Lower Willsworthy for an Easter break we have been overwhelmed by the warm and friendly welcome , Mike and Sophie are perfect hosts- attentive and helpful but not over bearing.
The cottage is immaculate and beautifully appointed with every modern comfort- staying there with our two young children there is plenty of space and they absolutely adore the gardens and being able to see the horses, cattle and even deer grazing in the fields!
Lower Willsworthy is ideally located for exploring Dartmoor and the Tamar Valley and we enjoyed days out at Tavy Cleave, Lydford , Wembury beach and Cotehele.
Thanks again, we hope to see you very soon!
Thank you for the lovely review. It was lovely to see you all again and fingers crossed we will see you back soon!
A perfect short break
We arrived in the dark to find the cottage warm and welcoming. Throughout our stay the owners Mike & Sophie were very hospitable and nothing was too much trouble for them. Despite typical English January weather we used the cottage as a base for exploring Dartmoor and we aim to go back to explore a bit more in warmer weather.
Great property, lovely setting and very comfortable to stay in, many extras with wine and cake and dog biscuits left.
Sophie and Mike are great hosts and make the stay very special ,
Lovely to see the chickens, horses etc
